Marburger, Texas: Are you Ready for the Antique Fair?

We are heading to Texas for the antique fair in Marburger…

Via South Carolina to help our friend Lynn (The Side Door Antiques) pack, load and drive her truck to Texas. Just like I did last year. I am so excited, French Husband has no idea how much work is involved. Nor how to say Marburger.

He thinks we are going to Mc Donald's.

French Husband repeated Marburger… "Macburger? We are going to Macburger? Like McDonald's right?"

I said, "You are being funny…right?"

He answered, "Macburger? What is funny?"

I laughed, "As in McDonald's hamburgers that's funny!"

"Macburger is what you said?"

"No, I said, Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa..EEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRR (R R R R R) BURGER."

"No, you didn't."

"Okay, I didn't. It is Macburger, hold the burger!" Then I laughed. He didn't, though he gave me a strange look.

Later he questioned me again, "The antique fair has the same name as McDonald's burger?"

"Yeah that is right. It is MAC burger, not MAR burger." and the joys of being a bilingual, vegetarian couple.

NOTE:

We will be in Marburger

September 27 until October 3rd,

in Tent F-a, stand 4,

Lynn King, The Side Door Antiques.

Hope to see you there !

Prevent him from talking about the “beach”. Otherwise his accent will charm.

    Corey…
I am so jealous! I, too remember wanting to go last year and vowed to make it this year. Perhaps, you’re teaching all of us a lesson…”to go with the flow” – just do it…take off and follow your heart. However, with small children that’s sometimes not an easy task. OH, how I want to come to Texas, see the show, meet you. You know what would be fun? Maybe sometime next year, planning a girls weekend, week with a lot of your readers and planning a central place to meet. That would be so much fun! I know that a lot of them have come to see you at the show, but this is kinda like planning a family reunion type thing. Think about it and then maybe with some planning you could pull it off. I admire you and Yann for following your heart and just taking life one day at a time. I’m going to try to instill your model (a least to the best of my ability) at this point in my life. Have fun…and safe travels to you!

  15. I wish we were going to Marburger Fair…parsley, sage and Magnolia Pearl….

    Hi MN
Marburger is an area between: Houston and Austin. The most famous of the “tents or fields” along the thirty mile strip set up for the antique fair is “ROUND TOP” hence its name.
