When Something has a SOLD SIGN on it, Everyone Wants it…..

Lynn's Home

Photos and text by Corey Amaro

Thought I would give you a peek into Lynn's house. Isn't it wonderful? It is a fine art to mix French antiques into the home and have it feel cozy, not stuffy, inviting, and appealing to the eye. Lynn does this very well. She has a knack for creating a home with the French antiques she finds in France.

Lynn found this amazing 1600s, hand printed, French coat of arms chart at Melanie's shop. Melanie is a very close friend of mine…and antique dealer, lives nearby my home in France… Ask me, go ahead and ask me how many times I walked by this piece in Melanie's shop? A hundred? Two hundred times? Let's just say more times than I can admit… and the worse part I never really saw it until it was in Lynn's hands. And of course it was too late…

Isn't it often like that… we only really see something when someone shows us, or claims it as there own? It is a fact that when something has a SOLD SIGN on it, everyone wants it.

You should see my leg, it is black and blue from me kicking myself… that coat of arms piece is, well, just everything…. good, old, beautiful and not mine.

Lucky duck Lynn.

Blqck and blue me.

The fainting chaisse longue Lynn covered in antique style Toile de Jouy linen. It is perfectly matched with the hand painted antique piece.

Ask me how many times I sat there wishing it was something I could pack in my suitcase?

Lynn has good taste, and better yet she puts things together with such natural ease. If ever you need an interior designer you should look her up. Tell her I sent you. Then maybe when five, six or I don't know twenty of you do so she might want to give me the fainting chaisse longue and throw in the amazing 1600s, hand printed, French coat of arms chart that she found at Melanie's shop too, as a thank you gift.

A girl can dream….

  1. I hope to make the trip to Texas for the Marburger fair…my friend Theresa Smith has a booth there too. The coat of arms is tres magnifique!

  2. oooh la la…based on what Lynn brings each month to Scott’s in Atlanta I am NOT surprised that her home is tres ooh la la!
After Texas are you going to stay long enough to swoop through the Scott’s show with Lynn before returning home? I would so love to meet you! happy ‘tiquing! xo lulu
p.s. hugs and kisses to Ms. Lynn for moi.

  3. I love, love, love the chaise! My mother had a very French decorated bedroom which included a FR chaise similar to Lynn’s, and also decorated in a soft toile. Yes, lucky duck she is! And I know Melaine {from her online shop}; her eye for antiques is very similar to yours. If you shop the brocante together, I can imagine you both pointing and saying “look” and then grabbing up the treasure in front of you….lol!! Enjoy Marburger {has FR figured out how to pronounce it yet} and stay cool!!

  4. I hope to experience Marburger for the first time this Saturday. I will swing by to say “Hello!” Do you have any Marburger advice for novices? Parking? Are golf cart rentals worthwhile? Etc.?

  5. What exquisite taste Lynn has!!! Her home is beautiful….would love to take a trip and meet her and see her shop!!

  6. Melanie has beautiful things at her online shop. Her design taste is exceptional-like Corey’s.

  7. Hahahaha
Remember when we went to yr town puce together and you wanted what I found…
We walked together by the same stuff..
It’s all a matter of context.
A violinist plays Bach in the DC Metro for 45 minutes and leaves with $32 in tips.
The night before he (Joshua Bell) played his violin(a Stradivarious) to attendees paying $100 a seat.

  8. The same armoire :)!!!

  9. That is so true! Part of the reason I go to nice antique shops is to see what ordinary things they put in there and look so amazing. Then I come home and say “wow, I had that tucked away and didn’t even have it out where I could enjoy it”.
