Photography and text by Corey Amaro:
Marburger is snack dab in the middle (more or less) between Houston and Austin, more of a pasture than a town. A blink of an eye and you have passed it. Marburger is one of many little towns along the road of rolling hills, wild oak trees, cattle, rattle snakes, and blue bonnets.
The bi annual antique fair is alongside the road, continuing for thirty miles. The stands or booths are in tents, small houses dating back to last century, and out in the field. Each area has a
different name. The one we are in is called Marburger. Round top is
another area, as is Red Barn, Warrenton, Excess, etc… Round Top it is also the overall name of the fair.
Marburger has around 350 dealers. The dealers come from all over the USA and abroad. I met dealers from Connecticut, Kansas, California, Tennessee, Florida, Atlanta, Ireland … and of course Texas too.
Every type of antique, rustic to glittery, 17th century to yesterday, textile to wood is available.
While in Marburger helping my friend Lynn with her booth I met some of you who read my blog. Though I think many of you came to meet French Husband and referred to him as French Husband too… I think next time I will put on his tag "French Husband". We enjoyed meeting each and everyone of you, and felt like we knew you for years. Even those who have been reading my blog and never dared to leave me a comment. Alan you are going to write me now aren't you now, pretty please?!
Thank you for coming to see us, thank you for reading my blog, thank you for leaving me comments, for sharing your friendship and thoughts with me, Thank you for encouraging me to continue to be my self… ding dong and all.
It is a wonderful feeling to know that you are there…
Thank you for coming to visit, and I am waiting for you to come visit us in France.
