Seventy five candles.

Potluck dinner outside.

Children running around.

Memories shared in high volume.

Dad's name brought up without anyone shedding a tear.

My brother's Mark telling stories like nobody's business.

Making us laugh until it hurts.

 

 

  75 candles

My mom the center of attention.

Smiling, face glowing.

Children sticking the candles in the cake, later a fire more than candle light!

My Mother blowing them out while the children cheered.

Happiness.

the cake appeared

to be

a heart on fire.

    your mother is amazing. that photo of her in the candle light with the kids is so sweet. i swear she looks like she is in her teens. honest, not looking for a quarter or a prize. and how about the heart shape bosom!!!!!! if you tried, you probably couldn’t have pulled that off. you kids gave her the best gift of all. what glory to be surrounded by loved ones.     Happy Birthday wishes to your mother. We lost our mother on Tuesday and we will be having the visitation this evening. It was a quiet, peace-filled passing. She was surrounded by her five daughters and we said prayers, sang songs, chanted and told stories. It was a lovely passing and we are happy to be together as a family. Ellen
