French Breakfast at L’Albiousse

French Breakfast.

Find a place,

Invite someone to share,

Balcony, albiousse

A balcony for two will do,

especially if you want it to be more about the romance than the food.

Yogurt with lavender

But I like food too much,

Romance and food go hand in hand.

Serve both up, nice and sweet with a touch of surprise…

Homemade yogurt with an apricot sauce and a touch of lavender cream on top.

Fresh hot bread, butter it slowly watch it melt.

Fresh fruit

Followed by a bowl of fruit,

Exotic,

colorful,

as bright as the sun.

Balcony with curtain

Close the balcony's curtain when the sun starts competing with breakfast, tempting you to finish up and get going with the day.

open door

Close the balcony's door.

Charming B&B uzes france

Breakfast in bed….

Candlestick

Until the candles melt away.

Note:

Wonderful, recently opened, hotel in an 16th century building, in Uzes: L'Albiousse.

There is plenty to do in Uzes, other than to stay in bed all day… but L'Albiousse can cast a mighty fine spell to make one think differently.

  1. It is early here, 7 am, and I’ve been up awhile. I think I’ll go and make some breakfast now – French toast? – and close my eyes and pretend I’m at L’Albiousse. Thank you.

  2. This beats my cereal and newspaper.

  3. Oh so romantic. Once I was out of bed, I might go to the Haribo candy factory. Isn’t that nearby?

    Meredith!
    LOL!
    If I had known that…
    Haribo vs Breakfast in Bed…
    You are too funny!!

  4. And all I had this morning was a piece of banana bread…

  5. Daily breakfast is fast and mundane, just fueling up for the morning. However, this weekend we’ll be having hot fresh Belgian waffles — yay!!!

  6. This morning {well, really most weekday mornings} the closest I can get to a French breakfast is a flaky, warm croissant and my coffee served up in a vintage cafe au lait bowl. C’est la vie!!

  7. Too cold here for a yoghurt breakfast .. 🙁

  8. That balcony is nicer than my first apartment. Enjoy yourselves!

    Hi Jenna,
We stayed at the L’Albiousse for Yann’s birthday last September, but I am just now posting it.

    PS
The balcony was bigger than our first studio.

  9. How easily I could fall under that spell, such romance. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day.

  10. Such a lucky man FH. What a beautiful place to celebrate a birthday. I would not mind getting another year older to stay in that beautiful bed and breakfast. Two of my favorite birthdays I have celebrated were my 17th at the French Rivera, and my 50th in Carmel by the Sea. Who knows, maybe my 60th in France. I have three years to plan that one.

  11. Gorgeous! A place like this can definitely invoke romance. The yogurt and fresh fruit, a perfect breakfast. I see they do picnic baskets too. I can only imagine how wonderful.

  12. What a stunning hotel! And you say there’s a candy factory nearby? Life doesn’t get any better.

  13. lovely place and very romantic.

  14. One day, I say, One day. I will get there.
Thank you for sharing this delicious post.

  15. Most memorable birthday: Farmboy Husband’s last year at Furnas, São Miguel, in the Portuguese Azores Islands, which just happened to coincide with a “cozido” luncheon that was part of a conference I was attending; a member of the government office running the conference had the same b-day, so after our meals (which were cooked in large pots buried in steaming natural hot-springs overnight), there was a birthday cake for each table, and “Happy Birthday to You” was sung first in English (for FH), then in Portuguese (for the b-day twin)!
Most memorable anniversary: 20th, in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, where FH tracked down the inn a block from the ocean, where we’d spent out wedding night — except this time we stayed in the fanciest (instead of the least-expensive) room, which included a working fireplace (just like in the movies!).

  16. It’s so lovely, it’s as though it weren’t on this earth!
Corey, honey, your photos are getting frighteningly greater and greater. Mazel Tov!

My favorite place on earth is Uzes. I have spent the past 5 summers there, but sadly did not go this summer, and will probably not be able to return next summer either. I miss it very much. sigh Thank you for taking me there today.

  18. Thank you share with us your idea.our idea is good, I have nothing to say

Triple arched balcony sends hints of the mighty Pont du Gard nearby. These photos present this hotel as “worth the detour”.

  20. mmmm mmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, love you Jx

  21. I had to refresh the page 2 times to view this page for some reason, however, the information here was worth the wait.

  22. I’m going through a similar change since selling our century old schoolhouse and moving to our wee house on the river. The beauty here is amazing, but alas, my love for painting old things and selling them has all but disappeared. A tinge of sadness, but instead of motivation to paint, I feel the answers will come….one door closes, another opens and all that? Maybe the next chapter will involve a swan farm! Can’t wait!

  23. Everything in that post is SCRUM-DILLY-UPTIOUS! Yowza Corey. Thanks for sharing.

  24. d’accord with everything except eating breakfast in bed…. I don’t care for the crumbs in my sheets and I prefer to READ in bed – but being served a freshly pressed orange juice and a mug of tea with something not too crumbly in bed – heaven, heaven…. bliss!
We sometimes go to bed in the evening and take the tealights up because they wouldn’t light once more – they burn for another few hours and falling asleep with them SAFELY burning (careful!!!) is bliss too!
I loved Uzes… and you might well have been in the same B&B I stayed, years ago….
