French Dessert Menu

French dessert menu

French Desserts.

French food cannot be beaten from baguettes, sauces, cheeses, wine, and desserts.

The waiter brought out the dessert menu for us to drool over. But, because my friend wanted a dessert, I unbuttoned the top button of my pants to make room as I read the menu:

(Click on the French dessert names below to take you to a site with a photo and description of it.)

My friend selected Profiteroles from the menu, then added,

"With two spoons, please."

Of course, I did not object.

  5. Creme Brulee is my all time favorite.

  6. Yum!

  7. Marry me. Oh wait you are already married, and so am I, such a pity we could have been happy and fat together. I want a bite of everything!

  8. I almost always get nougat glacé!

Anything with CHOCOLATE is for me!! But I do love a well made creme brulee. Think I gained a few lbs. just licking my laptop screen. Gotta wipe off the drool on my keys, too. LOL!

  10. I misread this earlier and thought if I could have anything for dessert, it would probably be my mom’s homemade blackberry pie from SW Washington state. The berries there are smaller and sweeter than normal berries and are to DIE for. In fact, at our wedding my mother made 36 blackberry pies for the guests rather than the traditional cake. It is what I want to eat every day in heaven.

  11. All of the above, one right after the other!

  12. Just Plain Jane

    Lovely to contemplate.

  13. One of each please….

  14. Creme Brulee or Iles Flottantes – one spoon!

  15. Elizabeth Mackey

For me it was always a tie with profiteroles and Poires belles Helene. While living in France, we decided to go on a quest for the best profiteroles, and we found them in this odd little pizza place in our village!! Those were the ones to beat.

  16. Do they have any chocolate cake? haha!

  17. Where’s the chocolate mousse? Always my favorite.

  18. how can you choose?????

  19. “Life is uncertain, so eat dessert first”
    (as seen on a T-shirt)

    Creme Brule. Always.
I’ve made it a point to always have dessert first. If there is any room left in my tummy, I’ll have a meal. If not, maybe I’ll have another dessert, please. Oh, and one spoon only, thank you.

  21. There’s nothing more delicious than creme brulee! or… a little bit of everything!

  22. Rebecca from the pacific northwest

All I can say is, it’s a good thing I looked at all these right after having a nice big breakfast, or I would have drooled even more and killed my keyboard. yum.

How cute that you think I could possibly pick just one. We were at a buffet for Thanksgiving and they had these little dessert plates on the end of the row so I walked over the dinner area and got myself a big plate and proceeded to fill it up. Figured since I didn’t eat any turkey it was okay.

Creme Brulee for me, please. I can feel my hips expanding as I type !!!

  25. Amy Kortuem

Oh wow. Oh my. I think my order would be more like TWO desserts, ONE spoon!
    French chocolate mousse, please.

  26. All those are blissful. I am drooling. I would have thought that you would have added the “Religieuse” au chocolat ou au cafe to your list though, due to your background! It is my favorite next to the ile flottante.

  27. joanne nixon

  28. one of each, please – maybe double on those pears 😉

  29. Natalie Thiele

Chocolat Liegeois and Cafe Liegeois. Not quite sure what they are (I got hung up on her blog drooling over the other desserts), but they certainly look heavenly.
I am Mrs. Chocolate, but that creme brulee is really calling out to me.

  30. herhimnbryn

  31. I think I gained ten pounds just looking at those gorgeous yummy desserts! Creme Brulee I would have to choose. Or maybe what you had.

  33. Corey, I have just finished my lunch and now you got me craving for dessert! Ah, what I’d give now for some authentic French peche melba! 🙂

  34. First instinct would be profiteroles (and that picture did nothing to disuade me!) but when I got to the pears…oh my! I would like to try everything really and it has always puzzled me why some restaurant has not come up with a DESSERT tasting menu!
    I would be there TONIGHT!

  35. Marie- Noelle

    “Verrine” chocolate-raspberry
Hmmm… just writing it awakes my gustatory senses !!!

  36. One of each please! 🙂 xxoo

  37. Works of art! …For the palette!
