Beautiful!
Bold red amaryllis have been bursting on my table. Just a simple bulb to maximise suspenseful shoots and blossoms for nearly two months of festivities.
Dear Corey, again beautiful photographs. I have several favorites. Anything white and anything en masse; Paperwhites, Phaleonopsis Orchids, Lenten Rose, Roses and, yes, Amaryllus.
All of us who love Corey’s blog must vote for her this year on the Bloggie’s Award!!! It is the most prestigious of all blog awards. Let’s not keep her to ourselves!
Beautiful photos Corey!
I’ll be voting!

Those are so beautiful, I love the pleated petals. Bright red poinsettias tell me it’s Christmas.
While the poinsettia is a contender, I would much prefer the amaryllis. I had one growing earlier; pink and white and the most lovely fragrance. It is one of the best bulbs to have growing around children as it grows so fast and they can see the results on a daily, sometimes hourly, basis.
Lovely, lovely photos.
Roses always speak to me no matter what time of year
I love you

Merry Christmas my lovely one

Lovely photographs and love flowers. Poinsettias are so traditional but I love amaryllis-it is a new tradition to send one to my elderly parents and one to my own house from Santa. Watching them come to life is very magical.
Cory-are you partial to any one photo effects program? I am using Aperture to tweak my own photos but my husband thinks I should switch to Lightroom. Your final results are so magical-I thought I would impose and ask if you use any specific software. So very lovely!
Red Amaryllis. Why???? because I am French. Go figure !
I like holly.
Corey, those photos are just simply stunning.
They are so elegant. I am fan of Amaryllis and love the red ones too. I just have found your blog. So beautiful full of wonderul Frenchness. Carla
About a week ago I bought one branch of white lilies, with 7 buds on it. It has really spoke to me this Christmas as each bud opens up and puts forth it’s fragrance. I think I could have just had that branch of lilies this year and been happy. They are just beautiful!
Fire & Ice roses – so deep red they’re almost black with that touch of blazing white.
And white narcissus – that scent is what Heaven must smell like.
I am with the French – we always try to have an amaryllis for the holidays….even more so than the poinsettia. Now they have so many more poinsettia’s to choose from: white, pink, pale pink, pale pink with dark pink spots — it goes on and on.
I always have at least on Phaleonopsis Orchid in the house — as they are plentiful and inexpensive here in California. I love Trader Joe’s for their plants!
Red carnations with evergreen branches. My mother-in-law always had red carnations and Christmas was her favortite holiday.
The bougainvillea start blooming like crazy in the dry winter weather here in Florida.

Every year I plant the Christmas hyacinthe, en masse, in a huge blue and white Chinese porcelain punch bowl. I love amaryllis too though. Yours are so full of blooms! Gorgeous!
The Christmas cactus that belonged to my grandma. She received it when she graduated from high school. The year was 1922. She lovingly took care of it and was so proud every Christmas when it would bloom. She died in 1996 and my mother inherited it. The cactus is still alive and has recently bloomed. Though I still miss my grandma, seeing the cactus bloom once again, makes me smile and is one of the greatest presents ever. Best wishes for a beautiful Christmas. Becky F
I don’t seem to have a favorite. I enjoy holly, poinsettias, and amaryllis. I inherited my mother’s Christmas cactus and like to have it bloom to honor her for Christmas. I also like to force paper whites.
This year the Christmas cactus is blooming, but the paper whites are not cooperating.
I love paper whites but also the poinsettias that have the pale pink flower petals instead of the bright red 🙂
I was married at Christmas, 37 years ago today. The wedding took place at my cousin’s Montana farm; my cousin’ mother-in-law came from Maui and brought with her an armload of anthuriums and gave them to me for my wedding bouquet … so the deep red anthurium remains a favorite Christmas flower.
