Some get Breakfast in Bed & Some get Socks

Roses are red

This morning as soon as my barefeet hit the tile floor I knew that this was not an ordinary mid winter day in Provence.  Outside ten inches of snow had fallen. My naturally cold feet were colder. Much colder.

My camera begged me to take a photo,

I thought about it for two seconds.

Then instead of getting up, my cold feet lead me back in bed where I promptly placed them under that heater called my husband.

Sizzle pop. Love is a warm husband who doesn't mind his wife's cold feet.

Sizzle Pop! He woke with a start. Being the thoughtful wife that I am I suggested that he make me oatmeal in bed, "…and not the watery kind either. I'll have mine with cream and maple syrup please."

Roses instead

Loving is about communicating.

He said, "You might want to get up and take a photo, it is so beautiful outside."

In which I replied, "Warmed maple syrup is best."

Baby it's cold outside

Note: Some people get roses, some get breakfast in bed, some get socks, and some get to get up and take a photo.

What loving thing are you doing today?

I love what you share with us, so I am sending you some love back! xx (does hugging your man in bed and saying “I do love you, you know that”, count?) Sending you and Yann huge, warm, soft bundles of love from strange lands, and strange friends you have never met.
    Katiebell (hugs)

  7. It is 0 degrees outside this morning. What did I do? Does letting my love sleep through the alarm count?

  8. LOL, when you are born the oldest a bit of bullying runs through the blood!
I am making tea, hopefully I can accomplish more later.

  9. Mr CCC and I start each morning with a BIG HUG! No snow here in So. California….aren’t we the luckie ducks 😉 though I love pictures of snow….lol!

  11. We’re shoveling snow!! Another 8 inches has fallen and is still coming down, on top of at least 3 feet already on the ground from previous storms. A bitter cold New England day, with temps diving to well below zero tonight. Hubby is off from work so he is shoveling, not me! I’m snug by the woodstove with my cats.

  12. Making a beef pot roast with lots of veggies and biscuits for the fella and I. It is cold and rainy here and comfort food is necessary. As are hugs. Then again, hugs are always necessary no matter what the weather.

  13. Looking at your street scene pic – I can’t help but notice how France looks even more beautiful with a sticky layer of snow highlighting and shadowing it’s sculptured magnificence…natures’ paintbrush!

  14. Awww. I know the cold feet in winter problem. No snow here in England but plenty of frost and damp cold.
What loving thing did I do? Well… I made AP a cup of tea at 6 AM and brought it to him in bed. No breakfast or oatmeal.
    🙂

  21. Sue from Seattle

I was rudely awakened at 4:30am by 3 hungry little pups and so I fed them lovingly…even though I kind of wanted to ring their little necks. haha

  22. …woke up to a similiar scene this morning & proceeded to shovel, shovel, shovel, shovel. Our driveway, sidewalk and neighbours, too. There is something delicious about thoughtful deeds.j.

  23. You always seem to make me smile. Lovely outside!

  24. My little almost-three-year-old boy wanted my attention, so I put aside the laptop and cuddled with him for a long time. He is so very very cuddly!

  25. You know you have got me thinking since I read your post while having afternoon tea? What loving thing could I do today …. ? ….?
Well, too much thinking got me into trouble this afternoon:
While walking downtown, a little not very young anymore lady (well, she was tiny, really) suddenly stopped right in front of me and, in trying to avoid her, I swerved to the side, but could help grazing her coat, just a tad. I could not say I sorry fast enough, she was berating me as if I had run her over. Well, I continued on then, a few stores down, where I stopped and was about to enter when something hit me in the back. That little not so young anymore lady had whacked her handbag at my behind! She must have been a retired shot-putter, the way she hit me. Good thing I still needed to do some loving act to tell you about: I turned around and looked at her and said “Hope that makes you feel better!” and stepped into the store. And no, i did not make it up.

  26. what loving thing am I doing today? waving my husband off happily when he goes to get his new Harley.. he is one happy little boy.!!

  27. My husband works away from home a lot so today we spent the day together and took in a movie but I too started my day by warming my feet on his toastie toes. Heaven!

  28. Forgot about how wonderful oatmeal is…I haven’t eaten it in a long time and I think I can just taste a bowl full now. I bet French oatmeal is better as it seems anything French is.

  29. Judy B. – Texas

Spoiled DH I have…each morning I take his coffee to him while he’s still in bed…ironed his shirt and waved at him as he drove off to work. Made some banana bread yesterday so tucked one piece in a bag for him to snack on later during his break. Is this treatment one sided? …a big “No”….he pampers me as well. As far as my cold feet, he goes and gets “his” big socks and puts them on my small feet. Lucky me…lucky him!

  30. I lovingly told my man how much I dearly loved him, kissed him and continued to clean up after his messy self. Now that’s love baby!

  31. …continually…
There is nothing better than a good Gumbo on a cold day!
Made one to the specifications of one son, nice and chunky with seasoned meats, Aundoullie, tasso, chicken, okra, sausage, all the onions and parsley and bellpeppers and celery…the whole nine yards! It pleased everyone, and that pleases me!
