Where to go Antiquing in France

1.

Where to go antiquing in France? If only I had a dime for everytime someone asked me that question! There is a site on the internet that I use to find out about antique fairs in France. It is in French, so I thought today I would break it down for you. Most French antique fairs happen on Saturday or Sunday. Though others do happen during the week as well.

Below you will find the link and how to understand it below.

First – Click on the link below:

– On the "Where to go antiquing in France website", the first thing you need to do is click on the sign that says:

Calendrier des
Manifestations

—————————————————————————-

3.

When you click on it, it will open up and look like this:

Calendrier des
Manifestations
โ€ข Fรฉvrier
โ€ข Mars
โ€ข Avril
โ€ข Mois suivants

The first three words are MONTHS. Starting with the present month. The last series of words are: Mois Suivants which means = Following Months. Click on the month that you will be in France or the month you want to go antiquing.

When clicking on the month (mois) you will come to the page above. Next click on the region of France where you will be, and or want to go antiquing.

Paris is in "Ile de France".

When you click on the region of your choice a slew of towns, cities with fairs, brocantes and antique markets will appear in order according to date.

  1. Would you list your favourite antique markets for chocolate or for photos of some old things from Poland? ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. the deal should be that when we attend the very first thing we buy is for you. I would happily do that. Next best thing what would you like from our country flea markets, etc. a gift to you in Provence in return for your gifts to us.

  3. Thank you Thank you Thank you – or should I say Merci Beaucoup?
I’ve been mapping out the Paris Flea Markets and have come to the conclusion there is only one there I am interested in. I cannot wait!

  4. I say both…a picture of stinky cat and a list of your favorite markets. Please add why a certain market is a favorite-what makes it your fav?

Anything you like, the price would not be too high. I want both – your fav’s (and why) and a photo of stinky cat!

  6. Shelley@thiswhiteshed.blogspot.com

Stinky cat seems far more attainable than brocanting at this particular juncture. Sure, throw him at us!

  7. ChicagoSheila

How about putting a price tag on Stinky Cat and taking a picture of him at your favorite place? We get the location, and you possibly get rid of Stinky Cat if the price is right. Win-win. (To all the cat lovers–I am just kidding.)

  8. OK, since there are no flea markets in the Balt/DC area, all I can offer would be a few days repite at my humble home plus some wine & laughs. There is a Harley in the garage for FH to use! well, do we have a deal?
thanks for this very valuable info . . .hoping to use it soon!!

  9. Wow, I had no idea it was a contact sport. Bet you have great legs.

  10. What a great post Corey – I will definitely check it out. My husband is reading a book “20 Amazing French Roads to Drive” in anticipation of our trip in May; now we just have to decide if the Drive determines the Brocante or if the Brocante determines the Drive!
As for payment for your information, I expect you could probably milk this one for all it’s worth!

  11. as always, soooo generous with your information….
    … merci…

Is Stinky Cat making himself at home chez toi? He gets mentioned a lot these days.

  13. Rebecca from the pacific northwest

Sorry, may I tutoyer you? It just came out like that.

  14. Cheryl ~ Casual Cottage Chic

If you list YOUR favorite brocantes, I will take Stinky Cat ๐Ÿ˜‰ We have 5 cats; what’s one more ๐Ÿ˜‰

  15. Oh how I wish I were planning a trip your way. So I guess for now a picture of Stinky Cat will have to do. I would love knowing your favorites though.

  16. Toni Mason

Hi Corey, First of all have a safe and wonderful trip! I would love to see a photo of Stinky Cat!

Off-topic, except for love of photos and travel and Provence and all: I did a search to see where Cereste is: voila! Husband and I were near there a few years ago. Then I meandered online a bit more on the Cereste topic and stumbled on a lovely Picasa photo-documentation of someone’s 6-day driving trip from the Netherlands to Provence. Here’s the fascinating part: they shot a photo every waking hour, wherever they were, posting the time as the caption: other cars on autoroute, zooming past a castle or farmhouse, city streets, places they stopped, luggage getting plopped on the hotel bed, dinner, morning view out the window, map spread and plotting the next day’s travel, zooming past a field, and on through the entire trip. They went through areas I’ve been which made it even more fun for me, but I love the concept. Nice photos too.

This makes me want to (a) travel again and (b) look at your travel pictures again, Corey!

  19. Oh Corey, just tell me which market Brad Pitt shops at..that’s all I need to know! lol

  20. Tongue in Cheek

That sounds like a good trade!! Now only if the neighbor’s don’t mind.

  21. Tongue in Cheek

    Nooooooooooo!
Stinky Cat is OUTSIDE and only came in our house:
    1) He sneaked in to pee.
    2) He fell down the chimney.
    3) My friend Sophie opened the window, took him off the window sill, carried him down stairs and I made her go outside directly!
He is not Chez Moi Cat!

  22. Amy Kortuem

Now I just have to make a bunch of money and get to France!
Stinky Cat is working his way into you heart, isn’t he?

  23. stinky cat and Johnny Depp, PLEASE!

  24. No cats please, Jx

  25. Thank you Corey! It will be the challenge to find
them when we are in Provence! I would love to see your favorites and…..a picture of stinky cat.
I bet you can name your price for the favorites!
We all want to know, so we don’t miss out!!!

  26. Please! A photo of Stinky Cat! My imagination runs wild with how you would chose to set that photo up! In a good way . . . I am a cat lover but realize that my little darlings can drive others absolutely mad!
Of course, the list of your favorites would be a favorite for all of us.

  27. I must say I am curious about Stinky cat… AND always enjoy photos of your beautiful home. While you may not like that SC is making your home, his home (or litter box), he is somehow making a mark on our hearts. j

  28. Thank you Cory and your blog friends for all of the kind words. They are very much appreciated.

  29. Brother Mathew

That info is priceless even if it is re brocante..very good. Pic of the Cat

  30. A photo session with Le Chat Stinky.

  31. Hey Mat!
Do you remember bonfires and a plywood dance floor out at the Knowles Ranch? Who am I? Here’s a clue..Rob, his little sister and her pesky friends..

  32. Tongue in Cheek

    Oh that would be lovely!

  33. Rebecca from the pacific northwest

In fact, just Johnny would be fine!

  34. Sharon Penney-Morrison

Oh dear!! I am in trouble. I wear thick wool socks with my Birkenstock sandals in the winter time; at home, to the grocery store, or to a friends house. Now when I go shopping for clothes…I wear flats with black socks. Is that ok??

  35. Karinka Calhoun

If anyone missed it last weekend, Cereste has the most wonderful viennoiserie/patisserie at the western edge of town called P. Barret. It is a little jewelbox of a bakery with a wonderful mosaic tile floor and delicious pastries and breads. Don’t miss it should you be anywhere within 25 km of it. Along with Auzet in Cavaillon which was featured in Peter Mayle’s Confessions of a French Baker, they are my two must go places for sweet things when I’m in Provence.

  36. GOOD HEAVENS COREY, you’re such a darling…. :)))))))))
no wonder people all over the world LOVE you!!! You know what I’m gonna do? I send this link to my crazy, lovable, wild and flea-market-crazed English friend. EVERY Thursday of the year (when they take place) she’s setting up her stall and it’s always one of the nicest ones… She has contacts providing her with antiques not good enough for sale in the shop but still beautiful enough for the ‘poor relations’ who come shopping! Thank you so much for this lovely, lovely post.
