Presenting: Stinky Cat

Cat perfumed by flowers

Stinky Cat.

The neighbor's cat,

Who fell down our chimney last year and survived a three floor drop.

Stinky Cat who peed twice in our house, claiming it his own.

Stinky Cat who sneeks in our opened bedroom window, on the second floor, forgoing thorn and bush to do so.

Stinky Cat is growing up darn cute… I cannot believe I am saying that.

Stinky Cat sitting outside amongst the flowers, eyeing me, as I slowed grabbed my camera before he dashed up and over the wall.

  1. I am NOT a cat lover but boy, this one is a real cutie!
Still, do NOT get involved; the five cats of 5 different neighbours (or so I assume) are looking at our property as their own; they go for the birds, even sit in the birds’ table (house!) in winter to await the birds…., they uproot my flowers on a yearly basis…, they wait until I am 2m away before they take their leave…. BUT we have no mice so I suffer them! I WANT A DOG… 🙂

Your neighbr’s cat is ADORABLE…just look at that sweet face! He just makes me smile. I would definately forgive him for his stinky ways and call him Cutie Pie.

  3. That one’s looking at you, kiddo!
And so cute, a real heartbreaker. 😉

  4. Cute but still not my cup of tea!

  5. Massilianana

Okay , you felt the same way about dogs until you met one of your friends’ dog so my recommandation du jour would be : quick ! Go find a lovely puppy and a cute kitten , let them grow together and have fun !!!You’ll love it !
(Stinky Cat really has beautiful eyes !)

  6. Marie-Noëlle

Mind you, the dog won’t catch the mice.
We’ve got a dog and a cat at home and they ‘re getting on very well !!!

  7. Big hugs
I love the blossoms on your tree
    and thee……………
    It’s a nice looking cat♥

  8. Adorable, but I’m a sucker for a cute cat. That’s why there are two sleeping on my bed right now.

  9. Love Stinky Cat! He’s very handsome!
You must forgive him for his trangressions and give him some lovin’. And I agree with Pam in Oregon, call him Sweetie Pie!

  10. SO cute!! He is eyeing you very intently!! I think you have a fan in Stinky Cat.

  11. The stray cats in our neighborhood try to kill the sweet birds I feed in the backyard. I like cats but as nature would have it if I saw one kill a bird, I think I would faint.

  12. LindaSonia

Love Stinky Cat – he’s mighty industrious if you ask me and seems to be using those nine lives too!!

  13. Definitely the cuteness factor makes this creature very dangerous, rendering you practically defenceless against its stinky invasions.

  14. Nannister

    stinkin cute!

  15. Awww, he looks a bit like our late lamented Wee Tobias! Is there any chance you could Shanghai him to the vet’s to be neutered, in order to eliminate (or at least vastly reduce) his spraying?

  16. That look says, “I’m entitled. Welcome back!”.

  17. What a handsome fellow he is.

  18. Gail Sullivan

It might be time for a new name for the cat. 🙂
    hugs,
    Gail

  19. He’s adorable, I bet you two are going to end up being good friends.

  20. Fearsome feline? I don’t think so-he looks lonely. Watch out Corey, he is sure to worm his way into your heart. My cat is 14 and bosses the dogs around. She tries to do that to me but is only successful 75% of the time.

  21. I agree with Kathie. He should not be running the neighborhood creating more (sometime homeless) baby kitties either. Not his fault. We adopted a male cat and once he was neutered, he never sprayed again..nor did he roam. Love all animals!

  22. Pepe’ Le Pew

  23. Brother Mathew

Ah yes the grey/black Tabby. The best mouser in my opinion.

  24. Oh!!! He’s so sweet looking. I think you have a friend there. Cats are interesting to observe and they’re so agile and graceful.

  25. Denise Solsrud

ah, he is darling. i’d take him. oh,stinky boy. if a cat is a tiger,i love um. Bestest,Denise

  26. He is very very cute

  27. So beautiful kitty! Tres French with that aloof look and those stylish stripes and that utter confidence that you will be won over and fall madly in love with…it. Girl, boy? We definitely need to rename her/him!

  28. Kathie
The cat is my neighbor’s and I cannot do that to a cat that is not mine.

  30. Oh Corey, we’ve done this with a few neighborhood cats over the years, and the nominal owners never even noticed (male cats are normally released from veterinary hospital the same day) and pretty well heal with a day’s rest! The procedure not only eliminates the possibility of tragically unwanted litters of kittens but also makes the cat a better companion for humans (not spraying) and reduces his ricks of injury (since he’s not roaming or fighting so much).

  31. “risks” (not “ricks”!).

  32. Stinky cat is absolutely adorable. Before you know it, you’ll be saving some treats to share with the cutie pie!
Blissful tidings to you Corey! Hope the foot is on the mend. xo!
    Sandra

  33. Franca Bolla

While agree with Kathie and Tracy, the cat would need a quiet place to heal and someone to make sure an infection didn’t set in. Sounds as if this cat wouldn’t allow that person to be anyone but its owner. Maybe suggest it to them?
The cat would have a much, much better life.
Kathie, we had our male neutered as soon as he was old enough and he still sprayed. Fortunately, he stopped … either we broke him of the habit (yeah, we brought in a cat behaviorist) or he decided to quit on his own. I’d put my cat nip on the latter.

  34. Franca Bolla

And, that is a gorgeous cat. Mer.

  35. Who couldn’t love a face like that! Maybe it is trying to make amends and worm its way into your heart.:)

  36. The title of the children’s book should be “The French Adventures of Stinky Cat”. Write it. I’ll read it. It will be grand.

  37. What a beautiful boy!! Usually male cats are more affectionate than females. Beauty and grace in every way!
Glad you are back home, I worry when you are galavanting about the world.

  38. Corey,
they have a way to get into our hearts, that is for sure. Stinky looks sweet in the flowers. No need to encourage him, he will have his way! mine have stolen my oregano and won’t give it back. Oregano is the new catnip in our house!
    Have a great day,
    Sherry

  39. A cat can be a wonderful balm to a person.
They aren’t hyperactive like some dogs (wait, I do like dogs too)..and when they jump on your lap and rub your face with their little soft face..start kneading dough (that cute little manipulating their front paws) on you..you just melt..and so does your stress and unhappiness. Be nice to the stinky kitty Corey, he might just be your next very best friend.

  40. I love Tabby Cat’s…I’ve been waiting to hear about your Mr Stinky! In my opinion, the best cats are the ones who find us, not us finding them! Any cat I have ever loved, has chosen to live with me. That includes a massive Tabby at my shop, we called “MaMaCat”, bc we thought she was pregnant she was so big…and three times at home, black and white cat;s have come to the door just looking so adorable! (KittyHaHa,bc he looked like he was smiling to my boys, JoyfulJoyful, who gave us a few litters to give away, and BuddyFromTheBleachers, who hopped into my sons truck after football practice and hitched a ride home to be fed by my son, who says nothing should be hungry for long)

  41. maryb_649@hotmail.com

He’s a handsome boy…..I love cats especially when they have attitude. I thinks he likes you:o) You’d miss him if he wasn’t there….enjoy they make life fun

  42. hi Corey, How could you not fall for that big fellow, he just likes everything about you.
Somewhere between being a peeping tom and wanting a second home he is just doing his kitty thing……..I see he is slowly getting under your skin too. I’m very happy your good to him…….
PS – glad your home safely.

  43. Aww, man what a cutie. Now I am sure you have heard of this before but on the US TV show “Friends” there is an episode where the ditzy/artistic character Phoebe sings a song (hilariously too) about a Smelly Cat….seems to fit your visitor…who is a stinky cutie. I am so excited you are journeying again to China…it was a joy to travel with you, as you were quite the intrepid traveller, hurt foot and all. Luvs, JennyN

  44. He looks like our Gus.
When we first moved in this house, before we had Gus, I was home alone with some leftover steak for dinner, in a house that I thought was totally sealed up. As I started to cut into my steak, I looked down at the floor, and there, perfectly silent, sitting at my right foot, was the neighbor’s cat, looking up at me.
I never even heard her approach, and she was sitting not a foot away. It was actually quite creepy.
She ran away before I could even offer any steak, and I followed her upstairs, and into the attic. Turns out, she got in through a vent in the roof. I saw her twice more, then my husband came home and sealed up the vent, and that was that.

  45. stinky cat is adorable!!!

  46. Stinky cat is cute! And why do you call him Stinky Cat?

  47. Hello Sweet Niece Marie (My Brother Mathew’s Daughter)
Because it peed in our house twice.
And because he fell down our chimney,
and because Smelly cat or Pee-Pee Cat didn’t sound right.
    xx Aunt Coco

  48. Brenda, i love your son :)))))
nothing sd be hungry for long!!!!
my new Word of the Day.

  49. coming back because of the light filled super shot!
