Going Back to China

Clock tower provence

I am going back to China.

Passport pages added, visa obtained, ticket bought, brocanting put aside, house cleaned for guests that arrive as soon as I come back, Easter eggs packed, doctor approved foot on the mend, baking cookies with Annie this morning, and then I am ready to use chopsticks again.

Chelsea is the ring leader, I am the follower. We travel well together.

Never did I imagine that I would return to China so soon. But as we know life is full of surprises, and the good ones keep us going, the not so good ones make us stronger.

Chelsea and I will come back on the fourth of May. Chelsea will live at home while doing an internship in Marseille. Sacha (hopefully) returns July 11th. One big happy (mother cooking again) family.

  2. It is so much fun to “plan” a trip, however, very exciting to go on an unplanned adventure. We await your stories.

  3. Yes! Oh, I’m as happy if I were the the one going. 🙂 I learned to take a chance when opportunity comes knocking. All regret does is turn its back on you with a smug grin.
Am looking forward to seeing China through your eyes. If by chance you are able, will you send me a postcard?

  4. China has put a spell on you. Enjoy the reunion. We hope to see more beautiful photos and read more stories.

  5. Life is full of surprises, the not so good ones help us appreciate the good ones all the more!
You know you’d vacation at the 7-11, and love it, if Chelsea or Sacha were there. Have a good trip mom.

  6. Just the two of you girls? That’s nice! have a great time.

  7. Wonderful!!!!! It will be so lovely mother and daughter exploring more of China. I am so happy for you Corey. See how quickly this year has flown? I remember your post saying goodbye to both of your children as they set off on their travels a year ago. At the time you wondered how you would get through a year without them. I hope it has been better than you anticipated. Even though obviously you would have missed them so much.

  8. see you soon back, China girl

Did I ever tell you about my first visit to Edinburgh, Scotland? Parents arrived a few days before me. Met me at the airport, where a piper was greeting new arrivals. Dad wanted to go to “a special restaurant we found”. He had a crazy sense of humor. I was expecting haggis. We went to a Chinese place and had almond chicken, etc-no haggis.

Never doubted your choice for another adventure. You will surely share your thoughts during the long air travel. And for Easter, should you dare a 1000 year egg, or are they 100yr eggs?

  48. HAPPY TRAVELLING LOVES
you have learned an important lesson in life; taking the good opportunities to have enough strength and a smile on your face for the times less enchanting. BRAVO
I am glad too to know that you can do this trip on a (nearly) good foot!
    Que Dieu vous bénisse!!!!
