Cousins in France

  Provence images

The pleasure of living overseas is knowing that family and friends will come to visit. For nearly a year I have known that my three older cousins (I like to say "older" because it is rare that I am able to say that someone is older than me, and even though they are barely older than me, they are older.) were coming to visit.

The other advantage of having family and friends visit us is that we spend hours sitting around the table, taling up a storm in English, and going around visiting my favorite places.

Also, and a big also is that my three cousins know my brother Mathew well… and all they have to say is,

"Mathew, Viva les Brocante!"

You guessed it they are antique loving fools, so my kind of people.

Isn’t it amazing how special it is to have family around?
I wish you all a wonderful time together, enjoy!
    Warm hugs,

  2. Have fun with the girls, have some champagne for us! Maybe you’ll find something extra special for them to take home to Mat.

Spring in Provence, being able to share it with family from afar, and your empty nest filling up – sounds as though your life is blessed right now, enjoy it all! Warmest wishes to you …

  4. Your cousins are beautiful…and I know you have and will enjoy each living moment with them…

I’m sure you enjoyed every moment of being with your family and ease back into your native tongue. How exciting for them touring the South of France, was it their first visit? Always love to hear what your doing, you do have such an exciting life!

    Wish I were there.

    Yeah, Choop, I’m with you.

PS Ever heard of Linus bikes? I need a bike and of course I’m basing my decision on looks (quality, too, but good-looking quality).

Brocanting with cousins will never be as much fun as dancing to “Twist & Shout” with them last Saturday night. And Robin singing and shimmying to “Love Shack” is imprinted in my brain in perpetuity.

  10. Your cousins look content while having great time. Those places shown in the photos are such dreaming locations. May I know where are these towns?
    Big thanks.

  11. Have a great time with your cousins and we all could use a bit of brocante stories again.

Stunning! Looks like so much fun!

  14. I am so jealous! I would probably get more visits from family if I lived in France – Japan, not so much. Looks like so much fun!

Oh my goodness, Corey. There is no mistaking the family resemblance!

OMG! You 4 ladies are going to have a heck of a great time at the brocantes! And perhaps they will share some of their treasure finds with you mom for her shop?

So nice that you can celebrate all comraderie amidst the natural pageantry of France. All that colour and life is sure to enhance every conversation!

  18. C, I think I am a few months older than you, ditto on feeling like no one is older thank me. Recently, I got a part-time job working with seniors . . .wow, to feel young again!
God, how I wish I was your cousin!

  19. There is a certain family resemblance, isn’t there?!
I too noted like some of your friends here that when living in France, you tend to get much more visits than when living in a dreamy corner of South West England…. Paris is so close!!
But I also blossom when I can have my family and friends around me and I am just recovering from having had some 20 friends of our local choir at our place on Saturday for our vocal training. Yesterday we were some 60 singers in a hall of the University for a choral day, all in preparation for our upcoming concerts over the next two weeks. It’s such a special feeling to be with well-wishing, well thinking people and one returns to his/her home with a heart filled with glad feelings and happiness.
I wish you and your lovely cousines a splendid time!!!
    You are truly blessed.
