Roses

Roses

My Mac took a dive towards the dark side. It has a problem, and is being fixed. But while it is in the hands of the Mac doctor, I feel like my hands are tied behind my back.

Strange not to be able to connect.

Holy Mother of God does this mean I am a computer geek?

(I am using French Husbnd's PC, if I were a computer geek I could handle with ease the difference between a PC and a Mac.

I guess this means I am just a brocante loving oldie.)

Connection is beyond technology. Thank you for being there.

PC/Apple…doesn’t matter. When they go “down” they go down. Even a Mac isn’t (sadly) impervious. Hope the puppy is up and working soon. I have a PC and a Mac so I float between them when needed. Hope it all gets sorted out very soon !!!!!!! Can’t believe I’m up this late! 🙁 Good luck!!!!!!!!

  3. I have a hard time going back and forth between my laptop and our family desk top, and they’re both PC! I guess I’m the opposite of a computer geek. :o)
I smiled when I saw your roses, because I was watching a French lady on TV teaching how to make french bouquets the other day (just my speed when it comes to TV!). She used that same natural twine to tie hers and said that it’s the fashion in France right now. I thought of you when I was watching that, and now look! There it is right here on your blog!

When PC takes Mac’s place, the photo is still my taste !
    Thank you !

    Have a nice day!:)

May your MAC get fixed soon.
    Love you

  7. I recently switched from a PC to Mac. It takes a while to get used to a slightly different keyboard or keyboard commands or menus and shortcuts whether you are switching from a PC to Mac or the other way around.

  8. I love my MacBook and I love your posts!!!

oooo, I love my Mac!. If it makes you feel any better, the computer geeks I know are either Mac or PC, not both. You’re not old! perish the thought…you are younger than me… 🙂

Many Get Well Soon wishes to your Mac! Being a Mac user myself, I also struggle with the transition to a PC – you have all my sympathy!

  11. You’re not old, you’re refined, and brocante loving doesn’t seem that bad. Hope your computer is up and running soon, I’m not a techie either.

  12. Our keyboards become extensions of our fingers – appendages of their own. You will just get used to the PC and have to readjust. In the meantime, your posts are appreciated, admired, and envied, so, keep ’em coming.

  13. You are no more “geek” than the rest of us. I think we’ve just become a bit computer dependent.
I’m sure when we look up “Corey Amaro” in the dictionary we’ll only see this definition: “Brocante- and family-loving woman living in the south of France. Takes awesome photos and writes inspiring words for the world’s most beautiful blog”.

The roses in your yard cascade profusely and have such a sublime beauty and perfume!
Hmmm, is it possible to have “saudades” for Provence, or do the French have their own term for this phenomenon?

Have you considered using an iPAD? Love mine!!!

No, you’re just straddling that awkward abyss between Mac and PC. I hate it. I refuse to do it. My Mac is me. Always has been. (though I can still do weird keyboard formatting commands from the days I had to work on a PC, you know, because I was just out of college and desperate for a job…)

  18. Amy Kortuem

I mean I still remember those keyboard commands, especially when I’m so tired but can’t sleep…command+P+P+arrow-arrow-arrow = making things unbold…Lordy)

You’re just suffering what all Mac users suffer when forced to use a PC. It’s the WTF syndrome?! because compared to a Mac’s OS … well, there IS no comparison. Apple put the “friendly” in user-friendly” and the design … sigh …

Have to agree with Laura’s very apt description!

I started with PC (kicking and screaming at having to use a computer at all; that’s what everyone at my company used) and have been at it for, my word, that long? 25 years.
I have no clue about Macs. It’s just whichever one you’re used to, I suspect.
Thanks for limping along on FH’s PC for us.

Someday people will wander the aisles of the Brocante gently picking up keyboards and motherboards and exclaiming with wonder at their antique qualities…. Ha.
I’m with you. One foot in the brocante and one foot in the Apple Store. Good luck.

PC or Mac – doesn’t matter as long as you backup your computer contents especially all your beautiful pictures ! I’ve used Mac back in the days when the PC has not yet been designed to work with a mouse and when you have to type in every command. Love Mac but too pricey for my needs at this time …

I have a Mac brain. When my last Mac, only a year old then, couldn’t cope with that new fangled thing called the internet, I was “offline” for 13 years. My new (last year) crazy fast Mac is amazing. It’s like a I had a brain transplant and I didn’t know it! Hope your beloved can be fixed and soon.

  26. My mother was 93 when we went to the Apple Store for her first computer. You’re not old yet, Corey! You know the good stuff (macs, linens)…

Mac all the way baby!!!! I am surprised that your Mac took a dump – I rarely have issues. Never any viruses. Love the Mac. Have it home and at work (I’m a graphic designer) were we have a fabulous set up with Macs for design and pre-press…so I would choose a Mac over a PC any-day-of-the-week! Enjoy Italy you lucky devil!!!! Now if your camera died too, you’d be in big trouble.
