Who is the Angel Holding the Crown?

Angel holding crown

This morning French Husband had a meeting in Marseille. Before rolling out bed with 99 percent of the blankets he teasingly asked, "Want to come along for the ride? I'm taking the motorcycle?"

I held up my cast and said, "Sure!"

Then he threw the 99 percent of the blankets on top of me. Underneath I offered, "Why not ask your mom? She might like a break from being my side kick help?"

Downstairs I heard mt 83 Year old Mother-in-Law squeel, just like I knew she would, "Why Yeeeeeeeeeeessssssssss!!! That is if Corey doesn't need me?"

Helmet, gloves, jacket and away she went as happy as a chickadee of sixteen.

    A “mother-and-son” ride…!!!
I bet she’s proud to be there with Yann…

  2. Yes, I’m up very, very late. Your mother-in-law is a hoot! Holy smokes, 83 ?…I can only hope for that kind of health and stamina! Good for her! I hope you have a very, very peaceful and happy day at home 🙂

  3. Where I live in SW Florida there are many retirees but I have never seen a 83 yr old woman on a motorcycle, much less a French woman at that. I hope you got a picture of that! Blessings for a great weekend….ps where did you put the window? Xo jody

  4. Love it! When I was a teenager, I always wanted to have a boyfriend with a motorbike but somehow it never worked out. At the ripe old age of 27, after my (now) husband and I had spent the first night together, we were having breakfast when he mentioned something about his motorbike. “You have a motorbike?!?!?”, I exclaimed. “You like riding motorbikes?!?!?”, he answered. (Turns out he’d been thinking about giving it up because the women he went out with could never be persuaded to ride with him. A match made in heaven, clearly.:)
    Still riding pillion in Berlin

  5. 🙂
you lot never cease to amaze me! BRAVO Yann-maman….

  6. Yay for Yann’s mom!!! What “joie de vivre” she has!

Perhaps FR Husband gets his thirst for adventure in the air or riding into the air from his mother?

Oh please, pictures and some details. I love her spunk!!

  11. My first thought…..that’s awesome! Blessings, Kimberly

  12. So sweet and I am seeing a lot of women this age still going strong, it’s inspiring.
If my brother asked my mother to join him jumping off a cliff, she’d do it. Mother and sons, there is nothing like it.

I would also love to see the foto image of the mom and son duo on the motorcycle. I want to be just like her when I grow up. I’m only 67 so I have a way to go yet!!!

  14. like this

  15. Now we know where Yann gets his sense of adventure from. Photo please.
A favorite photo is of my 87 year old aunt, with a “do-rag” covering her hair, riding on the back of her son’s Harley. Her smile? It was immense!

  16. Are you kidding??? I hope you got a picture!

  17. Bravo Joanne for thinking that way! I will turn 62 next week and also have great plans for my future. I always shock my friends who say they are “beginning to wind down”. Ugh!

  18. she is a spitfire, that one! would love to hear more about her. you have mentioned her in older posts over the years, but these past few weeks you’ve had with her seem to be a new leaf..

  19. I love it!

    I am speachless.
Even with no broken bits I haven’t the nerve to get on the back of anyone’s Harley, not even James Dean.
My father predicted I would end up in an attic drawing with a bunch of cats…
    Where are the cats?

83??!! You’ve got to be kidding!! Good for her! I wouldn’t have the nerve but I’m happy to hear that SHE does! I’m 69 and would NEVER do that!
Hope your wrist is healing well. Mine hurts when it rains!

  22. Awesome!!!!!

  23. Never judge a book by its cover.
Your Belle-Mere’s book of life may be elegant, conservative and ever so slightly aged, but what hidden secrets lie deep within?
Or, simply, has she turned over a new leaf?

  24. What gorgeous spunk! Reminds me of a favorite aunt who visited Israel and rode a camel at the age of 83. These ol’ gals know how to live!
