My friend's (Jean and Nathalie) home at La Madone is a place I could pack in my suitcase and take away with me forever. Mind you I would need two thousand large suitcases, and two trucks.
I would take it all.
And their children too.
Nathalie and Jean have a palette of color that is eye candy softness,
a sense of sensitivity,
a swooning style…a melt in your mouth style.
Their lives are an art de vivre that I admire.
I love when friends are inspirational in one way or a million.
Their latest brocante discovery was a nude painting. They put it on the mantel in their living room.
I couldn't take my eyes off it.
Next, to the nude painting they had two glass domes filled with rolled documents, behind the glass domes they had a pair of 1900s rose floral paintings.
Above their mantel, a large faded mercury mirror stands. I took a photo of their chandelier, which hangs in the middle of the room, looking into their faded mercury mirror. That is to say, no matter where I put my eyes it was beautiful.
Intoxicating with inspiration.
Faded grandeur at its best.
Detail of their 18eme French trumeau.
Hand-carved gilded wood, with original grey, painted background.
Does it get any better?
Yes, it does.
Jean and Nathalie have a gentle cat.
