You are blessed to have just visited Willows and experienced your cousin and family full of life and love. Their grief is felt by many who only know Lynn through you. Thank you for sharing your family with us ~ through life and death.

  16. Sorry to hear this Corey. It’s been a rough year for these things… My Husband lost his father in December a few years back. I thought it would mar Christmas forever and become hard to celebrate. Oddly enough, it forced everyone to grieve. Everyone then still had to go shopping (all be it begrudgingly and last minute) but they were able to let a little of the joy of life back. It actually brought them all closer because they all started to stop grieving so badly and made them enjoy themselves and each other. It was one of the nicest Christmas’s we have had even with the pretense of our original gathering.

  17. So sorry, Corey. Praying for your family!

  18. So sorry, Corey. May God’s love and light surround you and your family as you grieve the loss of Lynn.

  21. My condolences to you and your family Corey. My friend lost her father to cancer a few years ago and before he died he told her whenever she sees a rainbow, he would be there in spirit. She lost her grandmother this week and the next morning she saw a double rainbow for the first time. She knows her grandmother and father are together watching over her. Lynn will always be in your heart and guiding you. God bless you and your family as you grieve. xox

  30. {Hugs}A few years ago at work, there was a contract employee (40ish) who I talked to occassionaly. We all thought she was very nice with a big ready smile. Then one day she did not show up for work and were informed she passed away during the night. We all felt the loss even if we had known her for a short while. Her husband sent us the following poem that was read by a friend at her services. This may also apply to Lynn.
    Your Are Special
    “Special” is a word
    That is used to describe
    Something one-of-a-kind
    Like a hug
    Or a sunset
    Or a person
    Who spreads love
    With a smile
    Or a kind gesture.
    “Special” describes people
    Who act from the heart
    And keep in mind
    The hearts of others.
    “Special” applies to
    Something
    That is admired
    And precious
    And which can never be
    Replaced.
    “Special: is the word
    That best
    Describes you (Lynn)

  35. cynthia wolff

    so sorry for your loss.

  36. Certainly many people — family, and friends too — will always miss Lynn. I only got to meet her virtually through her Birdbrain droppings (sorry about the pun at such an inappropriate time), but judging by those as well as her smile* above, I’m sure I’d have liked her.
    * Score a toothy smile for the next blog thread 🙂

  37. What wonderful pictures of Lynn you chose for your blog these last few days. We all know the world will be missing a wonderful woman, whether we knew her or not. My condolences to you and all her family.

  38. this is SO wonderful – thank you

  39. so true! thank you Deborah

  40. You know Lynn looks like one of my cheeriest friends I had – an American. I knew her when I lived in England though….
A wonderful, beautiful smile she had – keep that in your heart; it will make YOU smile.
Yes, we continue to pray for her soul and the family to be able to carry on. I like that expression of ‘travelling through grief’ – it IS a journey and there will be better times again, but it’s SO hard now.
    Loving thoughts

    Dear Corey,
Broken hearted, but know that Lynn is surrounded by love. Here is a poem that was read at my mother’s funeral.
    Miss Me–But Let Me Go
When I come to the end of the road
and the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in a gloom filled room,
Why cry for a soul set free.
Miss me a little — but not too long
and not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that was once shared
Miss me — but let me go.
For this is a journey we must all take
    and each must go alone.
It is all a part of the Master’s plan
a step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart
    Go to friends we know
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds.
Miss me — but let me go.

  45. My prayers go with your family and Lynn’s. In reading about her I thought of a quote. I hope that it may bring some peace to you all.
“Life is eternal, and love is immortal,
    and death is only a horizon;
and a horizon is nothing save the limit of our sight.”
    ~Rossiter Worthington Raymond

  51. joanne nixon

so very sorry for your loss….my prayers are with all the family….losing someone so quickly and unexpected is so surreal…there will be days when disbelief and belief clash..leaving you all confused. time will smooth the sharp edges of unexpected loss. you will remember her for her self,,,funny, brilliant, down to earth, sensitive, loving and caring. you will remember her and how she laughed and how she cried.
remember her smile and laughter,,,remember the sound of her voice….the look in her eyes,,,,capture the profiles in your private memory space…,and when you are longing for her and missing her, you can pull up the beautiful memories you have…..smile..even though your heart is breaking

Very best wishes to you and all of your family at this very sad time. It is especially hard when a loved one passes away at a time of year when people are usually thinking about family gatherings for the festive season.
We have just lost a good friend in a hiking accident and I feel very sad for the family as they come to terms with this loss and then try to remember that they would normally be happily looking forward to being together for Christmas.
Lynn had such a lovely cheery smile in all the images you showed us of her. It is a sad time for you all.
    Cheers
    Jennifer
