Now if the Blogger of Advance Style would come to Provence and interview Annie (!!!!!) because after all at 92 Annie's style personality and memory (she was a hat a maker in her earlier years) would be a crown jewel for Advance Style.

After reading Advance Style it has encouraged me to forget about my age and just wear what I want.

  1. Oh I so agree. Since hitting 50, at last I really don’t feel the need for my style to be approved by others ( have to be careful not to embarass my kids in front of their friends though !! ). Comfortable and fun. Merry Christmas Corey and may 2012 see projects fulfilled and loved ones happy and healthy. xxxx

  2. Oui!

  3. Annie certainly has style. Some days I do feel like I can let it loose with the style and some days not so good. But I love that these ladies can enjoy life at their advanced age.

Love the use of several bakelite bangels on the wrists and oh, my…the red bakelite horse pin on the jacket…fabulous! I’m a passionate collector of vintage bakelite pins/bracelets, so I was delighted to see them worn in the video 😉 YOU GO GIRLS!!!!

    Corey,
I love the white amarylis. So lovely and so French in my mind. Recently I saw a special about decorating the White House for Christmas. Different designeers styled each room. My favorite was a designer who used all natural decorations. She made a garden in a fireplace, starting with moss her mother had sent to her and added other greenery including flower bulbs that are meant to bloom through the season. I can’t wait to try that next year. The trick will be finding moss before snowfall and then trying to keep it green. Perhaps I’ll add some wheat seeds and think of you.

  11. Those ladies remind me of Va! 🙂

  12. “Advanced”? That will be my new euphemism for my age — so much more elegant than “senior citizen” or “golden-ager,” or other patronizing terms. Merci!

  13. Annie looks absolutely fabulous!

  14. I adore the detailing on the bodice of Annie’s sweater! Did Annie (or a loved one) knit it? If so, I’d love to have the pattern!

  15. C’est fantastique!

  16. Natalie Thiele

ANNIE’S GOT STYLE! I know how to dress, but I would love to take lessons from Annie in “style.”

  17. Yes! Love, love, love.

  18. Chris Wittmann

Amazing video! Kudos to those ladies for their spirit and “daring do!!” Now I have something to look forward to as I get closer to my 60th year!

  22. jend’isère

Style which makes your inner beauty shine is ahead or “advanced”. And Annie’s got it_leader of the pack.

  27. God bless that Annie – she tugs at my heart – you are so lucky to be her friend. She wears her beret like a 21 year old. I must check out that book.
    Merry Christmas, Corey.

  28. Merry Christmas to you and Yann. And to all a good night.

What fun! The lady in red and black is my college roommate’s Aunt Zelda, who used to live downstairs from me on 57th St. in NYC. She is still going strong!

  30. Rebecca from the pacific northwest

    Soo wonderful!
Do you know the “Red Hat Society” in the US, which comes from that poem about individuality at an old age, something like “when I am old I’ll wear purple and will spit on the sidewalk and not care about what anyone says”? The RH Society involves women of a certain age who ALL wear red hats and ALL wear purple dresses and who have fun together proclaiming their individuality (?) while ALL looking exactly alike.
I don’t think the women in this video would belong to a group where they all dress alike.

  31. sue at naperville now

    fantastic video. thank you,Corey.

  32. Ingrid Dijkers

What a lovely video! Maybe when I become of an advanced age I will finally have the nerve to wear what I really like. Would you mind if I also shared this video on my blog?
I love your blog and have enjoyed spending much time on it today!

  33. Die Rabenfrau

Dear Corey, I stopped reading this blog, because all of these women seam to look so thin! Normal women like me would not have a chance to bee seen from these people. Your Annie looks so much more real and alive to me!
A wonderful new year for you and your family!
    Ursel from Germany

  34. I have peeked in at the blog you mentioned several times. It is WAY cool! I should post a photo of my Grandma (who is 98 now) in one of her very own creations!
