  1. Never heard of Maltese pastry before…can’t wait!

  2. Ah, another installment of “Where in the world is Corey Amaro?” I enjoy being surprised each day! And pastries? Does it get any better than that? (Drool)

  3. Let us know if you find a falcon statue at a Maltese brocante.

  4. What are all those white things sticking up?

You might try looking for ‘pastizzi’; puff pastry with a filling which includes peas, or a rikotta filling. There isn’t any English translation for the word ‘pastizzi’, if someone says these are called ‘cheesecakes’, they are wrong.
One would find ‘pastizzi’ practically in every town and village.

  6. Beautiful city. Any sign of the Maltese Falcon?

  7. Oh Malta, I have booked to go there end of May begining of April for 7 days. I have not been there before, you will have to tell me what I definately must see Corey, and what that pastry is.

    Hi Paula,
The Silent City Mdina, you must see.
And ask for Taxi 155 Mr. Henry. He speaks English and drove us around (best tour guide) over four hours (four of us) for 66 Euros.
Must see the church that was hit with a bomb but did not explode. And have pastries deep fried with prune. I’ll write more in the posts to come.

Not the Maltese pastry either but the Maltese Cross and the Maltese Falcon (movie with Humphrey Bogart).
I have two shining stars at home for another two hours. Then one of them flies off to the Caribbean for a year and a half… You described it perfectly Corey.
