The Last Day of a Wonderful Year

The last day of 2011,
It has been a wonderful year of traveling and meeting friends. it also has been a year of healing a injured ankle and a broken wrist.
More so it has been a year of saying goodbye.

The Last Day of a Wonderful Year

If I had to select one word to sum up this last year I would say it was Full or Generous.

What was the year like for you?

  1. I would have to say either the word: long-suffering or enduring.

  2. Wrapping up the year with a 15 day vacation.. I must be in your old stomping grounds cuz I just saw a sign that said Willows 11 miles to exit. Great way to end the year seeing friends and family. Blessings, Kimberly

  3. Funny because I can name a number of trying times, watching my daughter struggle with depression, my teenage boys getting into trouble, my friend Rini dying, but I would have to say that the overall feeling about 2011 is Happy. Hope your 2012 is happy too.

  4. Disappointing and disillusioning wrap up 2011 for me.

  5. Marilyn from Chico, Ca

I would have to sum up the year with the word “BLESSED” ! I just got back from a long wished for tour of Israel and England. My daughter survived a horrible auto accident which was a miracle. I did loose a couple of dear friends this year, which was heartbreaking, but compared to other years this one has been very good to me. Happy New Year Corey…I look forward to the New Year and seeing your beautiful pictures and reading about your life in France (and other far away places you travel to).

  6. Maybe walking when I wanted to run would describe this past year. Walking through mud sometimes and sometimes tip toeing through the flowers. I am hoping for more dancing this coming year. That sunset picture is gorgeous!

My year was characterized by transitions.

  8. Difficult at times but as always, worth every step.

  9. With the proviso that there are still 11 hours left in 2011 here in the EST, thus far our year has, even at its worst, not been bad. And there were some marvelous times, particularly our trip to Paris (for sightseeing and a conference) and Provence, two of the major places on my “bucket list.” Thanks, Corey!
Also, we got to visit another state (my 43rd), tiny Rhode Island, for the first time ever this fall, for a conference in Providence — it’s so easy to go past when one’s driving between the mid-Atlantic and Boston, Maine or the Maritimes.
And in both France and Providence we got to see old friends and make new ones.
My hope had been to complete by the end of 2011 the first draft of the novel I’ve been translating intermittently for nearly two years, but I’m still 40 pages shy. My New Year’s resolution is thus to try to complete the draft by the end of January, barring any problems or interruptions. Please wish me well.

  10. Difficult, full of worries and stress about loved ones. Hope that 2012 is better.

  11. Fortunate!
Nursing a cold presently, but we have all been well here in my immediate family!
    best wishes,

  15. Happy New Year’s Corey! It’s been a year of taking wonderful journeys courtesy of your blog! Thank you. I’d sum it up by saying it was a year of learning, inspiration and growth (even if in baby steps and with trepidation). May this coming year bring you joy, peace and love! Happy sailing!

  16. It was a marvelous year with the birth of a our third grandchild, trips to three continents and Christmas spent with our two grown children and their families. Of course there was a downside, too many friends diagnosed with cancer.
