I Heart….

Heart gilded wood

I heart 18th century design… If I could go back in time I would love to walk around in different interiors…

Workshops.

Creative spaces.

Casanova.

Marie Antoinette.

Duchess G…

Heart romance

If I could go back in time I would like to see some of the things I have collected, their beginnings, their owners, and well why not how they came to be in my house.

Have you ever seen the movie, The Red Violin?

Or The Necklace Affair?

Or read The Girl with the Pearl Earring? I heart Tracy Chevalier's books for weaving a story around a piece of history.

Heart engravings

What things do you heart?

What inspires you?

Of course family, friends, faith… is the base for most of us to living our lives fully. But what things, what activity, what sense or feeling inspires you? Do you have it close at hand?

Heart song

Heart song.

I heart Adele's music at the moment.

And silence,

And The 60s,

The sounds around twilight,

Classical music too and oh,

Children at play.

Wild mix, meets a variety of emotion.

Key to your heart

Whoever –

Whatever –

is the key to our hearts we must hold it close and let it lead us…. to every moment of every day.

Heart together

I heart blogs that inspire, and moreso you my dear readers who encourage this blog by being here.

  1. What things inspire me?
People who help others and don’t expect anything in return.
Homemade things–knitted things, handspun things, homemade bread, homemade food, homemade ice cream.
Very cold days with bright blue skies.
Beautiful photographs (I love yours, Corey).
The faint whispering of the Holy Spirit who points me to Jesus.

  2. Oh I love your photos! How did you do the heart thing with them?? That would be fun to do for a valentines blog post.

  3. Hi Jill
I used one of the seasonal heart tools on PICNIK which is a website to manipulate ones photos online.

  4. I enjoyed the first two links.
The pc maury one reminded me of a part of Herzog’s Cave of Forgotten Dreams, where an archaeologist explains how aborigines ‘touch up’ cave paintings if they see they are fading, but they do not count themselves as painters – rather, they consider the spirit moves them to restore what was there before.
    Wishing you a lovely week.

  5. I heart beauty in all of its forms: feelings, nature, art, food, books, film… I especially heart being creative, making something from nothing or from very little. I heart the exchanges that go on on the Internet. I heart you and your blog.
    Merci!

  6. I heart blue-green canning jars, old milk bottles, keys, milagros and religious charms, journals, and birds (feeding them, listening to their twilight songs, tiny little statues). I also heart the snow we have right now with the sun shining making it appear as though we are walking through diamonds.

  9. I Heart; softly playing music that you can just hear, a hot comforting bath to soak away the cares of the day, crisp snow with sunny blue skies, sun on my face and sand on my toes, my gorgeous daughter, kindness and care, smiles and laughter, France, coffee and cake, dancing till dawn, crisp fresh linen sheets, the scent of roses and lavender, good wine and good talk.
I heart so many things and it is wonderful to be reminded to think about them and how lucky I am to enjoy so many of them so often.
Thank you for jogging my memory x

  10. This is tough, so many things inspire…life in general..MUSIC! I’m a musician and artist with an endless stream of inspiration all around me.
Old books, handwritten letters, my garden, old family photos, the brook that runs through my property, my pets, the songs my sister wrote over 35 years, vintage black and white photography, my old farmhouse…and your beautiful site!

  11. Oh dear, am I the only one around here who ♥ how science explores/explains the universe on both micro and macro levels, and looks forward, e.g., to each episode of “Nova”? Guess that’s what comes from marrying a scientist!

  12. once I went to the Metropolitan Museum in N.Y. and saw the most beautiful very small painting by Degas and I can tell you I felt this overwhelming urge to steal it!!!!this really was a coup de foudre, instantly love, love, love…Beauty in all its forms is not explainable.

I heart the roses I grow in the summertime. I bring in a big bouquet and bury in face in the perfume. I am in heaven. I also find joy in old sterling and silverplate. Love to polish it and set the table for guests with silverplate napkin rings and a variety of grape-patterned silverware. The smell and feel of books, the way their words transport me. Beautiful music, one of the ways that I know God loves me because it is such a divine gift to just shut my eyes and listen.

    snow!
    tropical weather
