  1. Thanks for the links. I can see I will be visiting around. I have a very small store on etsy. If you type in sewing patterns Marmalady’s you would probably find it. Since I mainly sell from my website, I don’t keep as much on etsy. Just keep it to have a presence there. Etsy is a very good thing. I like finding supplies for projects too.

  2. A lovely focus! Hooray for Etsy! Thanks.

  3. Cathe Holden’s blog Just Something I Made is very inspiring and has lots of links to free sites and small online crafting companies.

  4. I haven’t allowed myself to get any of the paper tapes yet; I’m afraid once I buy one I’ll be hooked and ‘need’ more. Pink is my color–love the straws!

Love all these finds. You make me want to go shopping – and I’m on a STRICT budget and can’t:( Will have to pin these for later when I have some money to send!
I have my own etsy shop – it’s woefully empty at present:( It’s supposed to be stocked with stuff I’ve made – I’m a seamstress. But I haven’t found the time to photograph the things I have. Someday…

  6. I love etsy too and the fact that you can find new and vintage items. My favorite shop on etsy is my sisters, it is called “Whiteseason”. She has the same style of items that you sell online and you can buy it the minute you see it. Hate waiting the 7 days like other auctions.

I covet the baby’s head planter.

  8. Corey, have you ever seen antique Azorean “rendas” (various kinds of needlework, like crocheting, tatting, embroidery, cutwork, etc., all done by hand)? There must be websites showing them… I attended a museum exhibit of them in Angra do Heroísmo, Terceira, in 2004 and was blown away by their beauty and detail, not to mention the months, nay years, that must have gone into making a large piece.

  12. I have bought several gifts on Etsy and will definitely check out your recommendations, Corey.
FYI – I’ve been having trouble leaving comments on several of my favorite blogs, yours of course, that use blogspot or some form of word/letter verification. I’m still out here, still reading you, still loving you, and if this doesn’t kick back to me, I will be a very happy gal.

  13. You can spot a few Azorean rendas if you search:

  15. Oh yes, etsy. It’s such a creative place to browse and shop, isn’t it? I’ve spent HOURS there!
I really like the lace flower! It reminds me of the Queen Anne’s Lace that grows along the dirt road to my inlaws place (The Cottage) in Canada. For Christmas, I bought my sister a beautiful lace necklace at White Owl – http://www.etsy.com/shop/whiteowl?ref=seller_info.
Thank you and thank your readers for the links.

I love Etsy and spend way too much time on it. I have several favorite shops for fabrics and homemade solid scents and lip balms. My favorite of the latter is Long Winter Soap Co. She lives in the Maine Woods and makes her own vegan soaps, lip balms, and perfume oils.

There’s a French artist who does lovely watercolor paintings of food that I thought you’d enjoy. I haven’t bought anything yet, but I’ve been eyeing her macaron, strawberry pie, and madeleine prints. Really nice drawings with instructions and ingredients in French.
