Sealing it with a Kiss

Fallen berries on a marble plaque.

Some of them cried, "What a waste why didn't we fall on fertile ground! We will never grow into a mighty tree on this cold hard surface!"

A few others calculated that life is full of surprises, since they had landed on the line, certainly a prize was involved! Anxiously, they looked around hoping for it to come.

The berries that stuck together, falling in a clump, felt lucky that at least they were together. For them that made all the difference in the world.

Yet some berries stood alone, they enjoyed their freedom, looking at the adventure ahead of them with glee!

The marble plaque felt the red berry juice soak in… it had been kissed by life, it felt a funny new feeling inside.

Photo: One word Kiss. Carved into stone. Knowing that a kiss can tell many stories. The first kiss. French kiss. How to kiss. Sloppy kisses! Chocolate Kisses! When to kiss? Kiss the boo-boo kiss. Sealed with a kiss, Good-night kiss. Your last kiss?

    My cat ten minutes ago.

  2. Oh Brother Mathew how you make me laugh!

  3. …was an unforgettable one!

  4. I’m with brother Mathew…my beloved Col. Wilburforce Buckshot, my oldest cat, gave me a nice wet one this morning 🙂 He’s also prone to nibbling my ears, one at a time, with his paws around my neck. Now that’s a loving cat! I have to say he’s the most romantic male in the house these days 🙂

  5. corey i just love this post….

  6. How romantic and poetic!
You forgot one more KISS: http://www.kissonline.com/ :-).

  7. 45 mins ago, when I dropped my husband off at the local hospital to have a routine check up, so not a very romantic kiss at all.

  8. gotta say one more time…my cats.

i can recall when i first realized what s.w.a.k. mean’t. i was amazed that the four letters mean’t something incredible as they were packed with a special message. Bestest,Denise

  10. I love kisses from my husband and kiddos.
Sometimes I wish I knew the number for the amount of times I kissed my babies in their first year of life. Every time I picked them up from their crib their downy cheeks had to be nuzzled and kissed. And their little button noses required kissing too!

  11. Hope you got lots of kisses on your birthday 🙂 and everyday thereafter….

  12. ***smiling*** I love it that people wrote they kiss their cat (brother Matthew…really?). It’s been a long time since there’s been a small child around to kiss but I do kiss my husband. My step sons are not big, strapping boys and they really don’t want a kiss from their step mother but they are generous with hugs.

  13. you seem to be quoting the bible here…. in a way!
wonderful story – beautifully told – as usual!
last kiss: this morning when Hero Husband left the house
I bought – for my French spoken friends – a lovely little book called OU EMBRASSER A PARIS with a large ‘choice’ of places in Paris where it would be ‘good’ to kiss the beloved one – with indication at what time of the day/night, for which special occasion…. sweet, hilarious, funny, smile inducing!
I send you a kiss, not a French one…. just a sweet little kiss coming from my heart

  14. how very clever…i l-o-v-e it….”but what i wanna know…is do you love me …i mean like really love me…”(from KISS -the early years)

  15. I thought the letters were S.W.A.L.K sealed with a loving kiss??

  16. Oh yeah, my cat gets smooches all the time……..she is irresistible !!

  17. If I were a berry, I would rather fall on a kiss than on the ground!
My last kiss? From a very, very, very hairy white cat named Harry. Such a lover.

I’m having dinner tonight with the first boy I ever kissed. But nothing beats kisses from nephews. Those are the most pure and loving.
    Love,
    Allison
