The Day Begins What do you Put On?

Medal above your name

Heart on your sleeve. Penny in your shoe. Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket.

The day begins what do you put on? What are the first words spoken?

Put on your life and wear it well. And hold on to the star that is above your name.

    That’s lovely!
My day began with some snazzy new ankle-length black pants and a sparkly red and purple and black shirt. And with the words, “Oh hello, starving kitties! Are you ready for breakfast?”

  6. thanks, C – a great reminder from a wise friend.

Well, I try to remember give thanks for being alive. Then it usually involves yelling PESTO because the cat likes to get my attention by batting at electric cords–threatening to sever them.
Corey, you are indeed an artist with words and photographs and so generous. Bless you!

My morning’s start with quiet time and a small pot of tea. Then I grab hold of that star and fly.
Good Morning to you would be the first spoken words from my mouth. So Good Morning, dear Corey, Good Morning to you.

I strap the girls in and ask, “Where’s my coffee?”.

I put on jeans, my new Keen summer shoes, black top. Making grocery list, and heading out the door. But, the very first thing I do is…make my coffee, and take a seat in my favorite over stuffed chair, and contemplate life for 30 min. The go to the computer, read you, and then dress and start my day journey.
    Thanks for asking:-)

ha! Containment – for some of us, it’s all about containment! And then coffee and on a really good day, coffee we didn’t have to make ourselves.

Corey, my day begins with yoga followed by tea, every single morning. This morning as a very special treat we had Ben at the breakfast table! But only for today, for he left right afterwards to begin his summer job at camp. I missed your post yesterday, but I must add: When you live in France for a while, you learn what to do with a french thermometer!!!!!!!!

Wash face, brush teeth, pull hair back, slather on sunscreen, lacing up my shoes and running from here to there over the Golden Gate Bridge.
Running on the edge of the western world, foghorns and all 🙂

    Funny girl, you.

  17. Thank you for these lovely thoughts. As I start my daily routine and go through selecting what I will put on each day, how often do I remember that the most important things I put on are not articles of clothing. Thank you for the reminder to fill my heart with love and my head with thoughts of gratitude, and catch the light of that star to illuminate my path for the day! Thank you for all the light you share every day! You are the best!

  18. Dear Corey,
Thank you for this lovely reminder. To savor each moment, to speak and think kindly, to love well, to live well. You are a true artist with words, as so many have pointed out. I am so glad I found you.

The great thing about working at home is being able to work in my literal (or figurative) pajamas! But I sure need that first cuppa tea in the AM.
