Aix en Provence Flower Market

Aix en provence flower market

The flower market in Aix en Provence is nothing short of a painting in motion. An artist's dream. One can almost feel the wet paint dripping from the canvas of life.

The flower market is in a picturesque square with amazing old buildings, century old trees, cafes surrounding it, with a fountain in the center.

Certainly, late spring is the ideal moment with the season's colors bursting like firecrackers every which way.

Don't forget to buy a pastry at Weibel, then sit and smell the roses while having a coffee under the cafe's canopy.

  1. Beautiful!! I think if there’s one thing I’ve never forgotten to buy in life…it’s a pastry.

  2. Coffee, pastry, sun umbrellas, flower markets in the middle of the town square, old buildings, summer – how do people even go to work in Provence? They must be very strong willed to leave a place like this or maybe they all work at pattisieries, coffee houses, restaurants, brocantes and flower markets :-).

Actually, you need to take these pictures to one of your Saturday artists, one who does watercolors, to paint these!

I was a student for a year at the Institute for American Universities, just up the street from the bell tower, so this is a nostalgic post. I met my french husband there, married at the Mairie, this very spot. Mille mercis for a beautiful souvenir.
