La Fete du Music… Have you ever h . eard of it? Have you ever seen it? It is WONDERFUL!

This video explains it and shows it best… tonight, and every June 21st in France.

Twenty four years ago when I lived in Paris I saw the fete du Music… OH MY GOD it was one big party, nobody slept, the city was one glorious celebration… The first day of summer. Which is today.

Busker-in-Paris

I remember seeing thirteen French horns players leaning out of a buliding in the Sorbonne, each player leaned out of a window. The buliding (seven floors) was like a music box.

Must see Paris out night… to understand why it is called the City of Lights.

Seine-river-Paris

Take a ride down the Seine.

Ride the metro, walk about,

A MUST DO… I did it everyday when I lived in Paris, as it went by my house to work…

Broken-glass-to-cut

Pere Lachaise cemetery in Paris.

My brother Mat and I waited in a tomb at Pere Lachaise for an hour when we got caught in a rainstorm. I was seven months pregnant with Chelsea. You might say there were quite a few people hanging around that day in that tomb.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this post! I leave for my first trip to Paris on the 1st of July. I’m so excited, i’m vibrating! 12 days in the city of light. I’m torn between rushing around to see everything and planning nothing and just wandering the city at whim. I will certainly be hitting the brocante!

Paris is indeed a romantic place for married couple. We did plan to stay two days in Paris for our honeymoon but the situation forced us to cancel our scheduled flight. We had already rescheduled it and we’ll be there at the end of this month.
