After a five hour plus drive, dinner was divine, the best ever truffle cream for a starter, and at the end a chocolate souffle that I am writing home about!! Perfect evening… Glorious view of the river that feds into the Moulin turned Hotel (ultra simple inexpensive rooms, incredible restaurant.) … Then it started to rain, and I mean rain.
The brocante most likely will be canceled. If so breakfast at the hotel will be our reward.

Ok, what is truffel cream? Sounds interesting.

Oh dear, Corey – I hope it’s not cancelled in the end (and hope you brought a pair of wellies with you?). But honestly I think the five hours plus drive might have been worth it just for that chocolate soufflé!

They do know how to compensate for pouring rain and possible cancellation of a brocante in France :-).

Oh my it sure did rain by the look of those pictures!
Glad your accomodations are nice and the food is divine. I’ve never had truffel cream before. Sarah it does sound interesting Hope the rain stops and you get to go to the bracante.:). -
Sending you an emergency kit of sunshine!

Yum. The food makes up for the rain. We had a big storm that knocked out our power for about 24 hours. We still don’t have those necessities of life — like internet access.

Oh no! Rain, rain go away!!!

Hoping the rain stops, you have wellies on and are finding lots of French treasures at the brocante to share with us on your webshop soon!!

That food looks SO delicious! We had wind and rain here a couple days ago – trees down, power out for about 14 hours. It was a little scary!

What a bummer!

Am I right in assuming that sunshine returned, and you are out brocanting to your heart’s content?

Oh silly, that is not rain! I have not read the other comments, but to me it looks like all the drooling from readers like me…. Waiting to see what treasures you unearth! Hope you brought a wetsuit, goggles and flippers…..xoxo jody

Bummer….an annual brocante rained out! But there are other smaller ones to keep your passion alive. Don’t know how you do it with all those calories. I would have to eat only the soufle for lunch and nothing else. So is July a rainy month in France?

This reminds me of our stay on the Dordogne River. Wonderful river view, simple room, and totally yummy restaurant. What a perfect combination. Hope the rain stopped and brocante proceeded as planned.

Hope you had a good time anyway. -
That chocolate souffle looks like it would make it all worth while!!
