What Gets You Going?

Salade 1 Euros

Green salad is healthy.

Green beans fresh

Green beans are good with ginger.

Apples

Apples, I love the crunch. But not when someone else is eating them.

Breakfast-counter

Melon softens the sweet tooth.

Roma tomates

Home grown tomatoes are delicious.

Strawberries-with-mint

Strawberries, are a quick fix,

But nothing and can compare to the brocante diet-

Brocante-in-france

The Brocante Diet:

Makes the heart pitter patter which equals exercise.

I can have big doses, unmeasurable amounts, anyday, anytime.

Doesn't matter the size, shape, color, taste… all of it is good.

Soothing.

Filling.

It gets me going, it gets me, I get it… What gets you going? Whatever it is hold it close and thank it for feeding you.

Life without passion is fattening,

-unless of course your passion is butter, sugar, wine, chocolates, bread with cheese, potatoes with sour cream…

Bar bells

Old, very old, solid iron barbells.

Each over four pounds.

Found at the brocante

See how the brocante loves me?

Leads the way-

Following what we love always does.

  1. It takes 15 cups of spinach to equal 100 calories. I like to eat a lot of beautiful salads because it satisfies the eating and chewing of dining. If the the salad is colorful and arranged artistically, you have the advantage of a visual feast. The art of eating is more than just subsistence and losing weight, it can be taken to another level of experiences. Thanks Corey for your perspective on eating (dieting).

  2. Sightseeing – great for walking. Taking photos – also great for walking and bending and stretching. My girlfriends that drag me out for Nordic Walking.

  3. Rebecca from the pacific northwest

Somebody’s thinking about food a lot today.

  4. A trip to an antique flea market ALWAYS has the same effect for me as it does for you!
I am so glad you love beans…I just picked a bunch of tender French filet beans for our dinner tonight. They will accompany pot roast, new potatoes and…alas…cruncy French bread 🙂 Sorry, but after a day working out in my gardens I’m ready for a hearty meal, though I keep my portions much smaller these days. Of course the blueberry muffin I ate when I came in to take a break wasn’t part of the diet plan…
    oh well 🙂

  5. My boss is a physician and he tells patients “all things in moderation…including moderation”. The other day he told me that his wife’s favorite expression is “Don’t aim for happiness, aim for contentment”. Both sayings can easily be applied to dieting.
What is Chris W’s address? I want to go to her house for dinner. It sounds fabulous!

  6. “Life without passion is fattening”
Love this comment from you and so very true.
Without passion there is no energy, no life, no laughter, and no love.

  7. I’m hungry … Why oh why did Chris mentioned pot roast and potatoes…
Flea markets in calif are not very satisfying for me.. I know about French ones and English ones.. Satisfying and delicious. I crave and long for them… Can’t have them so I eat instead…

  8. What gets me going?
Paintings and furniture in equal doses, followed by clocks and sculpture. I could antique 24/7, 365 days a year, and I go to every auction preview here in LA. Travel and food are a distant third.

  9. Traveling and learning about different cultures feeds my soul!

  10. Brother Mathew

I knew this diet was a bad idea.

  11. what gets me going…that is a loaded question-the summer and the promise of long days(all things beach-)friends gathering and living outdoors-and one more thing REALLY gets me GOING…all things french and i mean all things!!! beautiful post as always!

  12. Well put, and passion is contagious.
Moved around more but ate two cookies, kinda big ones, so today was a wash for me, lol.

  13. Hi Jenna
I didn’t blow it… but gained a pound. Wished I blew it and gained, would have felt better.

  14. The pound is probably all the water you have been drinking, not actual weight gain.

What gets me going is partly, reading my little dose of “Tongue in Cheek’ each morning, then planning in my head, my next lot of travel which eases the everyday humdrum of ‘same old, same old’.

  20. At the gym here there are several TVs to watch as you work out on the treadmill. Often there is an infomercial about a beauty product made from special cantelopes from the south of France, cantelopes that don’t age like normal cantelopes. Cindy Crawford is the spokeswoman. I wonder if you’ve come across any of these fantastic beauty enhancing melons?
