The Silo… Tight Black Lace

Window frame

In Marseille, next to the seaside, there was an enormous abandoned silo that was transformed into an event center: Contemporary interior design, yet kept true the exterior form. A party was held and I was fortunate to go hide behind my camera and took in the atmosphere.

Now here is the thing, The building was amazing, though the lightening was purple and as the evening fell it made for taking photos far more complicated than it was worth. Plus as much as I wanted to photograph the hip design for you, my friend Ellen and most of all for my brother Mat (who is a designer, and longs for me to show something other than the brocante in France.) I couldn't help but focus on other things.

Black lace

Such as what the women were wearing.

I am sure you don't mind Mat.

You know if I were a guy I would have been licking my lips. The women were so chic, so sexy, so French, so not me… Nevertheless, I could not keep my eyes off their style.

Dang.

It made being on a diet easy… who could look at food when the dresses were dessert?

Red Chair

A single red chair faced the view of the Mediterranean.

Nobody sat there the entire evening.

I wonder why?

Maybe the tight black lace had something to do with it.

The perfect black dress

This dress looked liked the interior design of the Silo.

Black lines lacing into one another.

Love the back. I think this dress might have been inspired by the Silo, or less that is what I would have said if I were wearing it and anyone asked me.

Lace shorts

Note:

Men in black slacks stoodd around a women with a tatoo on her ankle, and who wore tight black lace shorts.

She came from work.

Took off her skirt, added a pair of black tight lace shorts, kept her Chanel bag, and with a blink of an eye went from work mode to party central.

I could never carry this outfit off. But I don't need to tell you that she did.

French man

Thankfully this guy with the purple light adding a pinch of punk to his hair, kept his eyes on me.

Thankfully.

Though my eyes were all over the place.

I suppose so were his.

  3. enjoyed the tour of the sights and sounds of the silo in marsailles.. you capture what interests me, too..thanks for including the picture of the hip guy with the purple tinted hair…yes, i know it’s your husband.. you two make a great couple..xoxo

  4. I am glad you clarified that the woman in the lace shorts came from the office and had changed out of her skirt. At first I was wondering where she worked. LOL! Gorgeous building and I would have been in the red chair all evening. The structure dress – wow! Talk about appropriate for the occassion. Of course, my favorite photo is of the guy with the purple streak in his hair. 😉

  5. “..a women with a tattoo on her ankle, and who wore tight black lace shorts. She came from work…”
*snort* One can only imagine ;-)))

  6. I’m sure FH had eyes only for you, Corey…You and he were made for each other!

  7. Fun pictures. I like the building. As for the shorts, it makes me think of Stevie Nicks, the singer, who said something like “mystery and mystique is sexier than revealing all…” LOL.

  8. Oh I love it! I love antiques with all of my heart but I am two faced and swoon over everything that is wonderfully designed too 🙂 well the CHANEL bag hit the mark as well as the Silo dress – amazing interior, I’d sit in the chair .. in the light … thanks for you photos and reportage Corey<3

Well, the place would have attracted my daughter’s eye, while I would have gone for people … !
That black silo-like dress is amazing !!!
    Thank you for sharing !!!

  10. I love the back of that dress. So glad you captured it. The look in French husband’s eyes says it all. He saw no one but you.

  11. Great venue, great dress (the architectural one).
A quote from Bridge Jones comes to mind: “Is skirt off sick, French lady with an ankle tattoo?” 😉

  12. Wow the back of that black dress definitely echoed the surroundings. So funny that the statement chair had no occupants. Wonderful post!

  13. Adored seeing every view you took. xxpeggybraswelldesign.com

This was fun. As for FH looking at all the black lace scenery, my mother-in-law always said “It’s okay to look at the menu as long as you don’t order off of it.”
The structural delicate but interesting dress was my favorite. (What did you wear?)
Hey brother Mat, what kind of designer are you? Just curious, as I’m one too.

  15. Brother Mathew

    You said something about architecture?

Thoughts on architecture and fashion. A Hitchcok film showed how bridges are used as models. Notre Dame is famous for its flying butresses. Your photos certainly associated these themes.

  17. That is one of the best pictures of Yann and all because it is how he looks when he is looking at you…pure love. How sweet.
