Sacha, 1950 Rock and Roll

Sacha 1950 Rock and Roll

My son had a party to go to last night were the guests, had to dressed up as a famous person or couple.

Sacha and his friend dressed up like Grease's Good girl Sandy and Greaser Danny.

Unfortunately, Sacha met his friend at the train station so I did not see her. Sacha was relieved 'cause he knows I would have wanted them to dance on the tracks or something like that.

He knows his mom.

Nevertheless, he poised a few for me.

Doesn't he look the part.

Sacha said he could be a Greaser.

I know he has the dance moves to pull it off.

As my family back in California reads my blog I thought they would like to see Sacha, 1950, Rock and Roll.

Mom, doesn't Sacha have Dad's eyes! I can hardly write that without getting tears in mine.

i told Sacha that he looked like Fonzy.

"What is that?" He asked.

"Not what, but who, you don't know Fonzy?!" I frowned thinking how old I am, and how long I have been in France, "Fonzy was a TV character on Happy Days."

Sacha said, "You know I always said I should have been born in the fifties."

What generation do you wish you could live in?

Personally I would like to look into the future, kinda weird coming from a Brocante o holic.

    Yummmmmmmmmmmm….
    :-)))))

  2. this is so PRECIOUS-eyes truly the window to the soul-well i would liked to have lived in the 40’s or fifties or even late 30’s-….Happy Sunday

  3. Brother Mathew

Yo Sach! Even cooler than the Fonz!

  4. Would have liked to see them both dancing on the tracks! Sacha looks cool as Danny!

  5. What a terrific Danny he makes! And just think how many MORE treasures to be had at future brocantes 😉

  6. So cute….cool. I bet he had a great time!

  7. Sacha is definately channeling Danny or James Dean! His eyes, oh my, I have always been a sucker for those bedroom eyes. I am happy where I am. I love the Victorian ornamental style, and primitive art from the American Indians and Egyptians. But, I love my microwave, my rights as a woman, and when I run out of bread, I don’t have to grow and grind the wheat and bake the bread. 🙂 Wishing you a beautiful day.

  8. Go Sacha! Would love to see that dance on the tracks.
An era . . . The Twenties look fun. Love the gaiety and rebelliousness of the Flapper. And that saucy fashion. I think you would look great in a cloche Corey.

Just don’t mention James Dean….it will REALLY show our age. LOL! He looks very striking and in character. Hope he and friend had a great time.Did he mention what other characters were at the party? Using Grease characters seems so American so I was wondering if the other young people chose European characters.

  10. No generation is without its good and bad points (e.g., ’50s: McCarthy witchhunts, oppressive social conformity). So I guess I’ll just settle for now, and keep hoping for a better future.

  11. Cool cat, Sacha.

Oh oui Sacha looks really cool ! I loved the Fonzy character in Happy Days . I even named a black cat of mine Fonzy . I think I would have liked to live in the 20s-30s, in the late 40s or even Victorian era ( for those lovely empire waist dresses ) but as your reader Jeannie writes it, I too love my microwave and my washing machine and my rights as a woman so really, now is a good time.

  13. Well put.

My 28 yr old daughter had a boyfriend who was like that – straight out of the 50s. I wondered how he tapped into it – to channel that same zeitgeist. Old souls, they are.

  15. Wonderful pictures, sweet & bittersweet. I think 1930s-1940s, but only because films glamorize that era so. Loved this weeks art saves.

  16. Fifties is a fun era to costume. Will Sacha be dancing the jitterbug?

  17. That last photo is definitely Fonzy! Boy, that tv show, Happy Days, sure brings back memories. That shows my age, doesn’t it? It’s wonderful that Sacha has your Dad’s eyes. And Seasons Greetings to you and your family from Jenny in Australia.

Oh my gosh, he IS the 50’s, Corey! He has the look down pat! My Amanda (who you’ve been so generous to help on her trips to Europe) should have been born in the 50’s. She’s always looking for 50’s vintage dresses for special occasions.
I love that you see your dad’s eyes when you look at Sacha.
Happy New Year to you, sweet Corey!

  19. Well, that’s probably because there will be more old things in the future! It makes perfect sense to me…
He looks the picture of the 50s – Danny, Fonzy, one of teh guys from The Lords of Flatbush…. I’m just glad he didn’t pick the 70s!

  20. cindy hattersley design

Darn if you had only gotten that photo of them dancing on the tracks!

  21. He definitely looks the part. Isn’t it special when we see a loved one in the eyes of our children? I would have chosen the 1920’s or the future.

  22. He’s perfect or the role! Happy New Year!

  23. Sam @ My Carolina Kitchen

He does look like Fonzy. The Fonz was the best! But I can understand why he doesn’t know who Fonzy is. Fonzy (aka Henry Winkler) is advertising reverse mortgages on television in the US now. A lot has changes since Happy Days and I wish those days were back sometimes 🙂
