New Year’s Eve…
as I prepare for this evening’s dinner party,
as I stir the pot,
saute the onions,
set the table,
chill the dessert,
whip the cream,
set out the wine,
fill the vases with flowers,
light the candles,
hug my family,
greet our friends,
dance to the music,
remember the year behind me,
open my arms wide for the year ahead,
My prayer is,
“Whatever comes my way, that it will lead me to be a better person.”
