  1. Loved the video, only wish that I had kept up my French! Chelsea’s laugh was infectious and I am still smiling now. It didn’t matter what she said they both conveyed the spontaneous fun and laughter of youth that I often forget as an ‘oldie’!!

  2. Loved the film and would have loved to been there skiing. Let’s see I understood:
“our small Olympics….onion breath…the sun’s coming up, good morning sun…the peak, something, something, something, something, something….”
I think mon Francais needs a refresher.

  3. well corey i watached it 2 times and cannot make sense of…. it makes me think the french lessons from the past 3 years countless dollars on learning aids/books videos and dvds has been for naught-i do know why sacha is the purple people eater his ski garb is purple- love the hippy shake music accompanying this video-tres cool even if my comprehension is well …not so good

  4. and i may give another listen later-and try again…..not for the prize-just for growth

  5. I will say because his suit is purple too. I noticed that right away. Onion breath from onion soup? I think she was baby boo hoo at the end when Sacha took a tumble..not sure tho. Precious kids having the time of their life. Thank you for sharing.

  6. I agree with Ana! This video made my day! Young and having so much fun… How wonderful!

  7. Absolutely priceless!!! Have no idea how to answer a single one of your questions, but it was still such fun to watch!

  8. Loved this so much – what a fabulous time they were having! It definitely made me smile!

  9. Loved watching them have fun together and laugh. Now if I could have only understood what they were saying. I did think Sacha looks like a purple people eater with his purple clothes and the two string/ties hanging down in front of his mouth.

  10. Well, I took Spanish in school and it didn’t help a bit!!! LOL! I did get Olympics, onion soup, and loved the skiing. What a gorgeous place to ski and have fun. I loved that the two enjoyed being together. I hope whomever gets the questions right enjoys the chocolate!

  11. lol! Oh those hideous strings, I thought they looked like snot. lol!

  12. No idea what they were saying but very cute. How did they film it? My daughter is snow boarding in New Hampshire today. I smile because she went there because the ‘mountains’ near us are too small. She’d love to ski in he French alps!

  13. The background music was a bit too loud at times but I think what was said: Chelsea has onion breath(as does Sacha) from raclette/fondue. She’s giggling a lot because Sacha always has funny things to say. The strings on Sacha’s jacket look like either fangs or snot. I couldn’t understand what he was saying. There were statements about the destination of the little trip, mom and dad being in the condo at the end of the journey. Most of all..this was a terrific cheerful video. Thanks kids and Chelsea’s laughter is precious!

  14. i can’t even guess, but understand the fun and laughter,
this video is your family memory keeper for sure!
    thanks for sharing. xoxo jody

They were laughing because Mom did not want to ski. Everytime she does she shows up dad. She ski’s circles around everyone else on the slope. Including the girls with onion breath and the purple people eater.
The woman never gets to cold or to old to ski. They say she should be in the olympics.
They hope when they grow up a little more they can be half the skier that mom is.
Must be the American in her.

This answer should win the chocolate!
If only for its buttering-up-the-blogger aspects. But more than that too.

Your active bilingual kids! This was so fun to watch! (where was FH while they were doing all this great goofing around?)

  18. Laurie Hodson

    Oh Corey,
I have no idea but they are so cute and it was so charming to hear them speaking french. I’m with you-hot cocoa by the fire.
    Laurie

  19. Corey, I don’t have a CLUE as to the answers, but what I DO know is that you and FH have got two of the most gorgeous, fun loving, family oriented kids a mom could ever hope for! Their laughter and smiles are infectious! And whoever put the video together did an awesome job – loved the music interspersed with them talking, smiling, and laughing!! (And did a hear a few words of English slip in toward the end?) Thanks so much for shaing your day, Chelsea and Sacha!
    Donna

  20. I don’t know what they are saying so I cannot answer your questions. He looks like the purple people eater because it is too cool.

  21. Ummm, Bonjour, sunshine, and petit need to watch a second time, but it doesn’t really matter!!! Ha ha! This video just makes me smile and makes me feel so very happy. You have two of the sweetest, most beautiful children on the planet.

  22. Coudn’t understand the conversation but wanted to tell you that Chelsea is ever lovelier in video than in photos and they both have beautiful teeth, and it looked like loads of fun.

  23. I loved the video, your beautiful children having so much fun, the spectacular scenery and perfect music for the video! YES, Cheslsea has beautiful teeth and a million dollar smile and I am sure your son does too, but the “snot” kind of got in the way of that….funny!

  24. Donna Ohmes McCulloch

    Oh Corey,
I have absolutely NO idea of what they were saying but I LOVED seeing them so carefree and happy and skillful!
I loved hearing Chelsea laugh. She reminded me so much of you at about that same age. She definitely has her mother’s laugh! Brought me back in time to such happy memories of YOU!
Much Love for the New Year!

  25. Hi Donna!!
Thank you! I must tell my readers who you are…. Donna was my spiritual advisor while I was in the monastery. Also Donna is Chelsea’s Godmother.
    I love you xxx

  26. Hi Babs,
Those teeth did not come with the genetic code, instead braces put them in order.

  27. How did you know??? lol!

  28. Hi was walking around a cemetery with me.

  29. I think they had onion breath. Did you make onion soup?

  30. I heard ‘ Bonjour….’ !! I dont think that answers any of your questions though!! What fun & what a fabulous place to ski…. Thank you to Chouls & Sooch for your film clip 🙂

  31. Chelsea says she has onion breath, and Sacha says he does too. Since it’s 12:30, they must have just stopped for lunch…
They are back on the chairlift going from Risoul but about to go on the other side of resort, to do the “l’Homme de pierre” (Man of Stone) run.
Sacha is a Purple People Eater ’cause he ate the Homme de Pierre!

  32. Bravo!! That was darn good!

  33. I realized I forgot the first part! (the onion breath was why they were breathing into the video)
Okay, Chelsea is giggling and breathless so it is hard to hear, but they went really, really fast down that run –too fast — and she is reacting to it. “…je cross sue J’ai des gros giclées dans muscles?” (Is that what she says? I feel like I have large jets in my muscles?)
Before that, she says something that sounds like “je gompe”… not a clue what that means!

  34. My french is just awful + can’t answer your questions! Loved seeing the video + your children are so handsome. xxpeggybraswelldesign.com

  35. My French is tooooo limited to translate, but love sharing the adventure with your wonderful kids. By the way, I think it is wonderful you are there and spending so much time pinning! I recognize your pins without even seeing your name now. Stay awhile; pin more!

Ah, THAT day! When he was doing your thing instead of his. Evidence of a nice husband.

  38. Love this video. Did they hold the camcorder in one hand or on a ski pole? It’s so steady when they’re skiing together downhill. Great editing! They are adorable and I love their French (although I can only understand a few words). Such fun they are having. They make skiing look effortless!

  39. I loved this post. You always seem to make me smile with your articles. Thanks a lot. 🙂
