Saturday Art Saves Laure Primard

Every Saturday I focus on a different artist that I admire. From potters to painters, chefs to collectors, seamstress to songwriters, lifestyle to lovers… anyone who set the paintbrush, pastry brush, hands and heart on fire to create.

Green moss chair

Those who inspire art to flow where it may.

Take an old chair carcass, cover it with moss,

set the chair on the table as a center piece.

My friend Laure is a floral artist.

Bench on wall

Need a shelf? Laure uses an old bench as one, hooks it to the wall, adds vases of flowers, starts a conversation by such a piece. The world of things do not need to be used as we know tehm, things can be different, or at least lead as in a new direction.

Who says a bench is for sitting on?

Laure's floral shop is scented with poetry.

Chandelier in a tree

Find a dead tree, bring it into your home, hang a chandelier from it.

Sit underneath it and take time under its shade.

Talk about winter, while believing in the promise of spring.

Dolls on a clothes line

Vintage dolls on a clothes line.

FADED ROSES

Faded roses, broken dishes, and a few pebbles, glamor is not ordinary in Laure's world, when everyday is a holiday, a reason to buy flowers is not needed.

Laure's whimiscal studio is riddled with sweetness, not pretenious, which is entertaining considering her clients are from some of the top notch addresses in the south of France.

Life as art

Life as art. Take what you have and let it color your day.

Laure's studio is her imagination come alive, inspiration pin board, it is her playground for creating.

Flowers on hand

With flowers on hand.

Greener grass

Did you know the grass is greener depending on the season?

Laure's floral artistry adorns hotels, restaurants, events, weddings and kitchen tables.

Laure worked at the famous Crillion in Paris.

She gave classes on creating with flowers, and still does.

  1. I love her work! It is beautiful and so creative. Reusing old quailty pieces then combining with Mother Nature’s gifts – what could be better than that?
Also, she looks just like my sister-in law!

  2. Lovely! I love her creativity. It always brings joy to my heart when I do find a creative soul with flowers and found objects. She definitely has a creative soul.

  3. I want to go into this shop. Love the vintage dolls on a clothsline.

  4. oh such beauty…I think I could sit in her shop forever with a pots of tea and just be…lovely

  5. Her work is beautiful. It looks effortless. But flower arranging is anything but that. I have tried, but I never quite get there. I am sure her classes are very popular.

  6. Beautiful – I love the dichotomy in her artwork. The tabletop is especially lovely.

  7. What a fantastic floral fantasy she creates. Thank you so much for sharing her artistry and creativity with us. Now to keep an eye out for some new pieces for floral display in my home.

  8. Darn I can’t get anything to show on her website.”is it down? Love the dolls.

  9. Does Laure fumigate the dead tree first, so it won’t carry all sorts of bugs into the indoors? Does she also treat it so it won’t deteriorate?
