Just what I needed, Chelsea sent me some of her photos of snow covered Paris. In Provence, it is cold too, though blue skies reigns. Chelsea is coming home tomorrow to soak up some vitamin D sunshine.

This photo is my favorite! The angle, makes my senses tune in… focus on the woman walking in the distance, I can hear the snow tip tap on her umbrella and crunch under her shoe.

Yes, this was what I needed today:

A hand reaching out,

Family held close,

A bowl of hot soup,

Evocative photographs from my daughter, so I did not have to think about what to blog.

From the Tuileries gardens, in front of the Louvre, in the nearby distance a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower.

The Iron Lady (The Eiffel Tower) is hard to hide from her, she easily can sneak a glimpse of you from where ever you are in Paris.

The beauty of Paris is that it is everywhere.

Seeing it in its entirety is impossible, taking it in small doses equally as hard.

Paris is a feast for the eyes, a wonderland for the imaginative, a source of inspiration for most, and a dream to live. As Chelsea has said, "Every inch offers something beautiful."

In your pictures, Paris covered in snow looks so peaceful, like paralysed by a cloth of quietness. It´s very cold in Austria, too. Are having an invasion of 50 beautiful Bohemian waxwings – very rare here – in our garden, pillaging a bush with red berries.I´m very happy to have them here, they make a bit of change in this monotonous time of year.

  4. Beautiful photos Chelsea! I didn’t think Paris could be any more beautiful than what we experienced in May. So serene.

I visited Paris & Provence in ’95 in Sept., so my memories & dreams are of the fall. Please pass along to Chelsea how much I (and I’m sure your other readers) enjoyed her photos. And I must say enjoying it inside with my morning coffee & ( cold yucky slush that we got in North Carolina)Bonjour!

  6. Pink snow bunny is too cute! Lovely photos…the ones with people in them are interesting as it adds a different feel or dimension to a photo.

  14. As long as a person is warm and snug indoors, snow looks so lovely — well, unless one must go out in it. We had ca. 5″ (12.5 cm) of the white stuff on Friday (luckily Farmboy Husband was able to work from home that day), followed by colder temperatures — 10°F (= ca. -12°C) at 8 AM today, according to the radio — although thank goodness the sun was shining, otherwise it would’ve been even worse! Hmmm, and I left the SF Bay Area WHY???

  15. Barbara Snow

I can’t remember ever seeing a red metro sign before, but I have photographed others and they are wide enough that they make a fun accordion book.
