  1. My grandson who loves me unconditionally.

  2. My husband, of course! (although I’ve gotten chocolates from a vendor friend, cookies from a coworker, and chocolate covered apples from by employer–I guess I’ve got lots of Valentines!)

  3. Everyone I love has a piece of my heart and they have a piece of mine. It makes for a lot of Valentines aka ♥’s.

  4. My sweet, best friend who happens to be my husband. Happy Valentine’s Day!

  5. No romance, no flowers, no true love, except I have just spent the evening with my 19 yr old son, we laughed together and he says what he always does’ love you’ and I always say it back, I take this exchange for granted but it struck me tonight that he, like my grandson loves me unconditionally too. My girls wished me a happy valentines day. My heart belongs to them all unconditionally too. They are my one true love.

  6. I just got home and put my purse down when there was a knock at the front door. It was my fella, he had a very hard shift at work and was on his way home to sleep, but wanted to stop and give me a Valentine’s day kiss and a beautiful bouquet of flowers! Some friends stopped by my work with treats for my dog and red velvet cake bites for me, It has been a wonderful day!

  7. May I have two? Vlad and Cotignac!

My Valentines are all my loves!! I have many – my family and friends, whom I dearly love.
Margaret Atwood, my favorite author, said “The Eskimos had fifty-two names for snow because it was important to them: there ought to be as many for love.”

  9. My husband of 30 Valentines! I still have the first card he gave me, but the many chocolates are long gone and were much enjoyed. Always kiss me goodnight, James, and good morning, too!
Corey, as soon as the roses peeked at me while your page was loading I knew I was in for a treat! The picture is oh so sweet. Thank you for sharing your talent.

  10. well no romantic valentines-but many many loves-all that surrounds, me all that makes me smile, all that makes me pause with wonder and gratitude, all the living breathing people/pets in my home, all my friends and all the strangers who wished me love on this day….HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY TO ALL!

  11. Today is our 24th anniversary: Pierre and I have been together since Valentine’s Day 1989.
We got together by means of an anonymous valentine, and our cupid (!) was a former boyfriend named Philippe (see my post earlier this week on first kisses).
This morning, I woke up with my 6 year old on top of my left arm, cuddled into my left side, and my 9 year old cuddled into my right. The cat was sleeping between my legs, and Pierre, well, he was on the other side of the 9 year old. (I’m a sound sleeper, and have no idea when all these family members snuck in). I guess they are all my Valentines 🙂

  12. been so blessed to have so much love that i am able to share the extra with others.

  13. Here is the PETER story (after the 1st kiss this is the LAST love). I met Peter while playing backgammon online. Peter lives in Germany ahe USA. Daily we would meet (10PM/USA = 7AM GERMANY)No photos shared, only letters and translations from our dictionaries.
One year after this online ‘romance’ and a pit in my stomach because this was a man who stole my heart, he says to me, “I tell you many times I must meet you and you no answer me. Now I have make plans to fly. You must please pick me up in San Francisco.” He then sends his itinerary.
What am I to do? Leave him on his own? Pick up this ‘stranger’ of sorts? House him in my one bedroom cottage in the country? Sleep with him next to me in my bed? Yes, yes, yes, yes & yes.
The first time he came he stayed 4 weeks. He returned to Germany for 3 months and returned to the USA for 3 months. He asked me to marry him. I said yes. We bought rings. We spoke of logistics. He knew my ‘sexuality & history), I knew his heart. He returned to Germany to have major surgery which entailed having his back broken and straightened.
I have never heard from him again. He is my Valentine and will also be so. We began a true and honest Love from the ‘heart’ and ONLY the ‘heart’! Nothing else seemed to matter.
I miss you Peter. I will always have you in my heart.
He signed his letters 1437 = I love you Michele
    I signed mine = 1435 = I love you Peter

  14. Corey, I thought you’d get a kick out of this. It’s christian Louboutin’s apartment in Paris. Apparently an attic apartment. I quite like it:

  16. My husband, Daniel. Celebrating 37 Valentine’s. The first in college. Last night he gave me an early present. Purple Wellies. He knows my heart. It’s in the garden as well as with him. We went to Barnes and Noble for tea, then he made spaghetti dinner for our daughter, granddaughter and me. They are also my valentine’s. Ah, so fortunate am I.

  17. My husband of nearly 20 years. My husband’s best friend died almost two years ago, so we celebrate Valentine’s Day with his wife. This year we invited another widow over for dinner as well. She brought a friend whose husband plays in a band and doesn’t take important holidays off.
My husband bought valentines and See’s heart shaped boxes of chocolates for everyone. It made me love him all the more. Tomorrow he will take me out to dinner so the two of us can celebrate.

Well I’m still stunned by Michele’s post. Unbelievable. My Valentine is the love of my life, my rock, my cool under fire husband. We met on a blind date. He makes me laugh, we have so much fun, just the two of us. Then my 3 dogs known as the boys who love their Mommy. Then last but NOT least are my many many friends who entertain me, keep me humble, but most importantly love me. Hope your VDay was delish!

  25. oh my gosh how long ago was this-a story that touches me- -thank you so much for sharing it with us…

  26. OH Ratzz. . . I was sick and it has been a week since I’ve been on your blog. So this morning I’m catching up and see the list & there is “Cherry’s son.” Whew, that must be me! But alas, the week end in Paris is already drawn. Despite that I’m sharing anyway.
My husband and I were in France ten years ago. Whew, where did that time go? We saved Paris for last. All the pictures I’d seen of Paris seemed to be overcast and gray. So what’s the big deal about Paris? Well, the three days we wandered and discovered the city we fell in love with it. My husband is not excitable and even when he is you wouldn’t always know it. Whereas with me, there’s no guessing with all the exclamations being declared as we are weaving in and out of shops and cafes. And then that moment came along the Seine. The sun is setting and windows across the way are reflecting the light as is the water as the boat glides pass and John and I find ourselves tearing up. To which he says, “there is something about this city.”
So as far as an apartment goes – a good bed, chairs. . . well the basics and with your eye for detail and the overflow from the brocante it will be a good place to regroup for more exploring of that beautiful city. I mean it’s in PARIS! But after seeing the blank canvas you are working with PAINT, PAINT and more PAINT!
I can’t be in France for days at a time but thanks to your sharing and my vivid imagination, France is not so far away.

  27. Nancy in Solana Beach…

    Michele…
Such an experience – I cannot get it out of my mind. Something must have happened. I keep remembering the ending to the movie, ” An affair to Remember “…
