For the girl who knows what she wants...

Every Saturday I focus on a different artist that I admire. From potters to painters, chefs to collectors, seamstress to songwriters, lifestyle to lovers… anyone who set the paintbrush, pastry brush, hands and heart on fire to create. Those who inspire art to flow where it may.

Today I would like to introduce Tamara Schafhauser, owner of Sheer Addiction Jewelry.

A few years back when I was in Marburger Texas to help a friend in her antique booth, Tamara came by to say hello. As she talked about her jewelry making, with that gorgeous smile, I drooled over her jewelry, right down the front of her blouse.

Since then I have followed her, and am never disappointed.

Tamara said,

"People connect and respond to handmade things

in a different, deeper way.

I seek out pieces with a soul and history,

and I love layering on my own point of view.”

Tamara has been creating jewelry for the last ten years.

She has a vast collection of new and old, one of a kind and eye catching charms, pendants, chains, precious stones and collectibles to create with. Tamara's inspiration is never in short supply.

Tamara mixes chunky with dainty,

silver with gold,

precious pieces with tarnished tins,

history with soul to wear to tomorrow's gathering.

Layers upon layers.

Collections gathered from many resources.

Tamara has a way of putting it together with such easy elegance.

Dress up or down it works.

The is a art all in itself.

I love Sheer Addiction jewelry. Tamara is a genious.

I love when Tamara show's photos that say, "This made that."

Tamara, fell in love with jewelry design when she was studying abroad in Swizerland. She has turned that passion into an expressive art form. Possessing an eye for detail and a talent for identifying pieces that marry well.

Collecting and working at her craft is what Tamara and her staff do everyday.

The result: Pieces that are bold yet basic, sophisticated yet subtle.

Another thing I enjoy is when Tamara puts pieces she has created with outfits.

Oh, wow….I do NOT need MORE nudging to visit Sheer Addiction!! I’m addicted, to be sure!! I found her blog link on your “about me” page some time ago and have been making purchases little by little. Her things are gorgeous to be sure! Just when you think, “okay, there. I love what I’ve ordered, I’m done” she will send an e-mail introducing new pieces and “boom!” you’ve GOT TO buy just one more thing.
Also, Tamara’s packaging is super cool. Like her jewelry it’s basic and plain, but oh so elegant!

  3. Love her style. And yours for finding her.

Pretty amazing! I watched the video…Love her work, especially the asymmetrical pieces. I had no idea chains came on spools like that.

  11. Love this jewelry, “old” and unique! How neat that you were at Marburger Farm Antique Show in Roundtop Texas! one of my favorite antique shows ~ about an hours drive from me. Also, just got home from a visit with my sister in south Texas and was thrilled to find your gift of the French soap and vintage French post card when I got home! How exciting to receive this from you ~ from France! Watching the progress on your Paris apartment with much anticipation! Blessings, Sandra
