Cheering Faith, Hope and Courage… Boston

It is the crowd..

The community gathered. Cheering, giving their energy through their presences, their voices as one, gathered in the bleachers, standing on the sidelines, waving banners, "Come on! You're doing well! Go Go GO!"

It is the crowd that lifts the players, like wings under their bodies, propelling them forward to do better than their best. It is the joyous crowd that crowns the team with support, "You did it, I am proud of you! Bravo!"

It was the faithful crowd…mothers, fathers, wives, husbands, children, friends… those voices, of love and joy, that terror tried to silence.

But a cheering crowd cannot be silenced… every team that has ever been beaten knows that the crowd (fans) remains faithful and strong no matter what, and with that un-denying support, so does the team.

Love is like that.

Cheering faith, hope, and courage to win. We are one, brave and true, we will not be defeated by violence.

Let our prayers, actions, and voice run towards peace without being afraid or discouraged.

A crowd can be weak when stuck in by surprise,
but it can be very strong when sticking together with love !
Thinking of all the Bostonian crowd …

  3. Beautully written.
    Thank you,Corey.

  4. Beautifully written.
    Thank you, Corey.

  5. I think many of us worried about the possiblity of an event such as the horrific one in Boston yesterday..whenever there is a huge crowd gathered for a special event we worry…ever since Sept. 11. Sadly, it’s part of our lives now and we must be ever vigilant. The America of my youth and the innocence and security that went with it is gone.

  6. The number of the hopeful, strong, caring and courageous so outnumber the puny percentage of the evil. I’m reminded of the Grinch, how he waited to hear the sounds of teeth gnashing, but he instead heard the song of the Whos, clasping hands and coming together. Boston is like that today.

  7. Chris, I think about that often…how the innocence of our youth will never be experienced by future generations. Truly sad.

  8. Adding my prayers to those of so many others.

  9. Beautiful, Corey!

  10. Thanks Corey. No words to express the sadness here after what started out to be a glorious patriots day where even the Red Sox won their home game. My daughter and I went to take a video to send to my younger daughter who had just run a half marathon in Edinburgh the day before. There is no way to explain the spirit of the Boston marathon for runners and fans alike. This year it was dedicated to the Newtown families many of who were in the stands at the finish line. The spirit of the Boston marathon wil live on even though our hearts grieve for those who lost their lives and limbs and innocence on Monday.

  11. I will try to hold the image of running toward peace in my mind as I see the violence on my TV.

  12. Beautifully stated, Corey. I remind myself that in some countries, a tragedy like yesterday in Boston is more common than not. My heart breaks at that thought. As the song says, “the land of the brave”. I wish it was the world of the brave, where courageous people stamp out tyrants and evil once and for all.

  13. Beautiful expressions Corey.

  14. One nation, united, and indivisible – my thoughts go out to Boston and all affected by this tragic act of violence.

  15. Thank you, Corey.

  16. beautiful – goodness prevails and triumphs, always

If only the beauty and love in the hearts of people like you could be felt in the hearts of those who perpetrate harm. Bless you for your words so eloquently spoken, as always.

  18. Thank you Corey.
Here in the Northeast we once again mourn the loss of innocent lives. The America of my youth seems to be a fading memory in many ways.
Our peace and security has been shattered by deafening blasts of evil.
We are a strong and determined people.
    UNITED WE STAND!!!!

    AMEN!
