When Friends Come to Visit

When Friends Come to Visit

When friends come to visit, the talk is non stop late until the night.

They come bearing gifts from afar.

The wonder, when they bring chocolates from their stop in Marseille, not just any shop but the oldest in the city…1760. How did they know?

When Friends Come to Visit

Dromel Aine.

Funny name for amazing chocolates.

When Friends Come to Visit

Nicol Sayre and her husband Phil are with us for a few days!

Dinner is still going on downstairs though, I jumped up saying, "Oh my God I haven't written my blog yet… excuse me!"

And ran upstairs.

Meanwhile Phil and Nicol have a cuddle.

When Friends Come to Visit

They are also happily having Chateauneuf du Papes…

I brought my glass with me.

When Friends Come to Visit

Chocolates yes.

Dinner yes.

Conversation flowing sweeter than wine, yes.

But Johnson's baby powder, my guilty simple pleasure.

OMG Corey, I never would have picked you for a Johnsons Baby Powder girl! What is it about it that you love?

  3. Everything! The scent, the feeling against my skin! The simplicity of it. I love it. Even on the motorcycle ride (through Eastern Europe) I took a little bag of it with me.

I think I foresee a fun weekend ahead! I love the smell of baby powder and baby lotion. 🙂 Have a party!

  9. I’m mad for Johnson’s baby powder!
I don’t use potions and lotions but I always reach for the Johnson’s after my shower.
It’s usually all over the bathroom by the time I’ve finished.

  10. Love the j&j powder too. Pls have fun & don’t worry about the blog. A big post when you at back! Xo

  11. What a treat friendship, chocolates, and baby powder.

  12. !!
I just got out of my shower, and the first thought I had was that it would be so nice to have some J&J baby powder. Haven’t used or thought about it for years…
The joy of good friends! I was lucky to have talked to several of mine today.
(how are the chocolates? But oh, I could use a glass of wine. It’s Friday, after all!)

  13. funny how this made me feel all tingly inside . . . memories of a sweet fragrance I haven’t used for several years . . . wonder why I fell away . . . a purchase today with j&j liquid bath soap . . . but . . .
what really pulled at my heart . . . lilys of the valley, marseille chocolates, visits with dear friends into the night . . .
    nice tingly . . .

  14. Corey…thanks for the note on friendship…planning for a friend visit I was thinking about what wine to buy…and here you mentioned a long ago most favored, Chateauneuf du Papes…recommended to me to go with a vegetarian meal back when my son was small…and he is now mid 40’s…so on my list after the farmer’s market today is to pick up a bottle…there is just always that something special in your blog to bring delight to the day. Still have fond memories of our visit exactly two years ago. Hope that circumstances will allow a return trip to France someday (le sigh).

  18. How fun to see dear friends in your abode. You couldnt have any sweeter guests!
They are both so cuddly, you want to put them in your pocket and keep them!
But alas . . . You had to let them return home so that we may go visit them!
Nicol has told me great and wonderful tales of your hospitality and warmth and talent.
    Have a beautiful day,
    Lori Ann

  19. Oh so easy to be a guest when the hospitality and friendship are extended so freely.
Considering we barely slept fpr talking so much I would say we had an absolutely wonderful time!! xoxo N & P
