I Think I Won

Nearly two years ago my five "little" nieces started to cut their long hair. Two of them cut their beautiful thick hair chin length, another one cut her hair above her shoulders, the other one never cut her hair and the littlest one was too little to decide on her own, but mimicked everything the "big" girls did.

I wanted my little nieces to have long hair forever, it symbolizes youth… innocence to me. Purely selfish on my part, I didńt want them to change!

I decided to have a contest, daring them not to cut their hair, to see who could have the longest hair in a year. I said I would take part in the contest too. Last year I lost to having the longest hair, but WON the real goal: They all have very long hair again.

But this year I might win on both accounts!

  8. Impressive–and gorgeous! I cut my hair to a bob and I dislike it every day, but it made me realize I’m growing it out. I’m hoping the prenatal vitamins and pregnancy hormones make my hair grow even faster now! 🙂

  9. You have beautiful hair, Corey. So glad you have let it grow. Very chic!

  10. Wow! I am impressed!

  12. No fair because wet hair always looks longer than dry hair. I’m trying to grow mine long again so it doesn’t curl up and look like an afro in the summer. Only the length weights it down enough to keep it down my back instead of around my head like a halo. Here’s a post about my hair troubles and how two men tricked me into touching my hair this summer.

  13. Ooops. My link didn’t work. If you go to my blog from July 26th you’ll see it.

What do you do with it? I find my shoulder-length hair in a plain old ponytail much of the time. Sorta boring. Wondering what all you do with yours.
(Hello again, I’m back after a week of wineries in Walla Walla, Washington area.)
