Stages of Motherhood

Stages of motherhood

Stages of Motherhood.

There never has been one stage or moment of motherhood that I loved more.

(Well waking up, three or four times a night, for the first five years wasn't fun, but I do not regret it.)

From the first moment to this present day: Love is what I have felt when I have been with my children…

This evening, this tender evening…

I felt the extraordinary privilege of being a mother.

To listen, to encourage, to remind:

"All that matters is that you love and are loved."

As any mother (parent) I know would say, "When your child is well all is well."

And on that rare occasion when a grown child needs a cuddle, then, my oh my–

A mother's heart widens, soaking up their childrens fears and tries to put them in a safe place.

  6. Dear Corey, it sounds as if you are dealing with some heartbreak of one of your children. I hope I am incorrect, but if I am not, I offer a cuddle to you as well.

  7. “You are only as happy as your saddest child.”

Your cuddle will relieve him/her, … and will help to smooth his/her sorrow away …

  12. Oh so true. I love Tracy A’s sentiment, ‘”You are only as happy as your saddest child”. I am many things to may people, but the most important title, the one that brings the greatest joy and heartache, the one that keeps my feet on the path, and my heart swollen with love, is the honor of being called mother.

  13. “All that matters is that you love and are loved.”
Thank you for this reminder … it is exactly what I need to say to my own son, sometimes, but don’t seem to find the words that are so simple and yet so wise and true.

  14. Amen I love Motherhood it is my greatest joy in life besides being a wife sister, friend and Logan’s grandmother of course. Love you and all you share.
    Love Jeanne
