Oh la la. I cannot believe after the hundreds of wonderful guesses you came up with, and reminders of things I need to have for the apartment (thank you), that not one of you guessed it. Close but not enough.

I loved the responses… Hair net, toilet paper, bedpan, ironing board, bibles, old ledger for guests to sign, dart board…. to name a few!

Found at the brocante in France

Remember what I said that I hoped to frame in the bathroom…. Well French Husband, John and Camy found it … When Camy pointed it out, I was a bit overwhelmed.

Provocative is putting it very very mildly.

Sacha later said… your guests will die when they see these. You cannot put it in the bathroom.

Finder's keeper at the brocante

Finder's keeper. I'll take him.

French antique nude men charcoals

The shirtless workers, remember those guys… blame it on them. Actually just blame the leak. No, just teasing accidents happen, God do they ever!

The French Man 1800s

Would you like to see more? Not accidents but charcoals of nude men? I must say there is plenty to see.

Oh la la plenty.

they look like wonderful sketches…although the model must have been Atlas! I think they seem perfect for a bathroom 🙂

  4. Well, duh!!!! Once you showed them, it was like – of course!!! Well done, Yann!

  5. Country French Judi

Ahhh haaaa well out of sight out of mind Corey! I guess the hot days of hot men this past summer are now gone and we all began thinking of practical things lol!! The men will look hot in the bathroom and will certainly be a reminder of the fun we had watching your renovation. You could also hang them over the bed or on the ceiling, whoo hoo!

So this is the reason for the look on Yann’s face!

  7. L-O-V-E IT! they look great-I hope you do hang them!

  8. Corey…. I wish I had seen your challenge sooner. I’d have know the answer right off! My mom is a huge fan of yours and is in Paris now. She called me last week and said, “Guess who I saw at Vanves…. COREY AMARO!!! And guess what she was buying…. NUDES!!! And she had French Husband with her, too!” I told her she should have said hello, but she said you looked busy and she didn’t want to interrupt. Oh, well. C’est la vie! I think you made her day any way. The nude sketches look lovely and I think they’d be perfect in the bathroom. Happy decorating!

    Hi Bonnie (D)
Oh darn! I would have so loved to have met your mother! Thank you for the many years you have been reading my blog and for all the wonderful comments you left in the past that encouraged me to blog all these nearly eight years. I too regret you didn’t respond sooner with the answer. Ah Darn!! to think I could have met your mom!!

  9. Oh goodness! Well, you could always get little fig leaves to cover things for more conservative guests. I did that to a little bisque statue of a male nude that was my grandparents-Mom was most amused.

  10. Corey, they are wonderful and perfect for the Paris apartment bathroom…you may find that they save your hot water bill…Some ladies may need cold showers!!
Now you really will be able to invite guests up to see your “etchings”. ; )

  11. Male nudes! We love male nudes, especially in charcoal! Great idea!
Now I make the connection to even long ago when you wanted to hang a nude in your bathroom in Provence. Did you ever hang one there?
Congratulations on the completion of the Paris apartment. It looks stunning from the photos.Don’t forget to show us those charcoal male nudes on the bathroom walls!

  12. Perfect. Just. Perfect.

Wasn’t French Husband a male nude model? I thought I remember you saying that once but then, at 56, my mind fades sometimes. Well, if so, wonder if someone many years from now will find charcoals of him and frame them for their bathroom??? 🙂

  14. Yes, yes. I remember you saying that when you met your French Husband in San Francisco he was earning money by modeling in art classes. Of course, he found the very drawings of himself that had been done so long ago in those classes. I was there I remember.

  16. Hi Helene and Dana Smith,
Good memory!! Exactly… though these are not Yann… I wish I had one of the originals of him years ago.

  17. Hi Jennifer
I never found any for the bathroom at home. But for Paris Yann, John and Camy found four.

  18. Rosemary Wilmot

Fantastic, love it, you are such a tease Corey… come on lets see the rest of them !!

  19. Look like pretty graphic sketches.. but what a find. Just so a man doesn’t pop out from behind the sketch… should be fascinating.

  20. Too bad I threw out all my old figure drawings from art school!

  21. OH……LA……….LA!!!!!!

  22. I just love your blog:) Thank you for making me smile today!

Put the one with the most impressive junk over the toilet so while pee-peeing les hommes can make a comparison.

  24. Reading this post…this tune popped into my head….LOL!
Only you can make this world seem right……..only you can make the darkness bright….

  25. Katherine Miller

    ooh la la…

  26. This is more perfect than I imagined! (although I did guess they were portraits, and they are that! ;-))
I should add that having gone through art school, and having spent many hours in life drawing classes, I am grateful for the people who are not afraid to model!

  27. annie vanderven

Please do hang them, in my bathroom I have 3 drawings of nude women 2 from the Louvre and one my Mother drew in art school…. A pleasure to start the day looking at beauty ….

  28. All I can say is “PERFECT” addition! Can’t wait to come back and see them.

  29. Teddee Grace

    Lookin’ good! A great addition.
