Brocante Tours

French antique Doors, Corey Amaro antiques

After a whirlwind of visitors and meeting so very many of you this year, I have decided to take the plunge: To do the brocante thing full on.

Crazy how a girl can change. Crazy how after eight years of saying, "No I do not do brocante tours, nor do I organize tours." I have finally come to my senses: Let's do it.

It seems to me that after meeting nearly two hundred of you, who read my blog, this year and finding out that 99.99 percent of you like the brocante, wine and bring me maple syrup that I cannot say no any longer.

Maple syrup, wine and the brocante… Holy cow only Yann's kisses are better than that.

Hope to see you soon?

  1. After you kindly pointed us to La Madone a few years ago – I’d follow you anywhere! Good luck with your new venture!

  2. Franca Bollo

Choopie and I will be out on the terrace working on the wine.

  3. fabulous awesome Hope to be able to meet you in the near future. Brocante would be wonderful or even a glass of wine as lone as there is fresh bread and cheese. Maybe I will see you in Willows!!!!

  4. Now if I had a trip planned I would be bringing you maple syrup.

There can be no better ambassador for France!

  9. Gosh, I hope I can join in . . . I am sure so many of your readers will be over the top to read your news.

Great news. Definitely adding it to my bucket list, for the next time I am in France. Hoping for 2015, and a stay in your Paris apartment too. Yippee

Hurray! Remember I told you I’d had a dream where my entire family had knocked on your door and you told us to pull up a chair and join you for dinner? Well, now all I have to do is start saving so I can make that dream come true!
Please send us details… When? Where will we go? Where will we stay? How about getting a container so we can all put our purchases in to ship them back and split the cost?…….. I’m giddy just thinking about it!

  14. Bring it! Please still be doing this in 2015 when (I’m hoping) my 70th birthday will be celebrated in France.

  15. Heck yes! Count me in!

  16. Great minds think alike Corey! Wonderful that you are doing brocantes tours, and who better to give us a low-down on how to develop a brocantes ‘nez’ for sniffing out a bargain, or rather something beautiful and what the heck with the price! Pencil me and my three flatmates from uni days in for next spring! We’re due a reunion somewhere we can all meet from our various parts of Europe, and they all speak French! Alas not me.
Just as you start brocantes tours, I am starting food, culture, history menu of tours here in Malta! I’ve been meaning to for 10 years; turning 50 a week ago made me realise, it was now or never! Good luck to us both!

  28. Rebecca from the pacific northwest

Tours that Do NOT involve brocantes. Tailored just for you, Mat, because she loves you. IF, that is, she can restrain herself the whole time you’re there…

  29. Rebecca from the pacific northwest

Save some wine for me, Franca Bollo, and I would love to join you on that terrace. You sound like my sort of folks.

  30. Rebecca from the pacific northwest

“Only Yann’s kisses are better than that” — I love this. Even better than you wrote this about your loved one on my 31st anniversary.

  31. Franca Bollo

Franca and Mat, AKA Choopie, would love to have you join us.

  32. sandy austin

Corey, Great idea…I’ve been thinking about a trip back to France. The last time I was there I could only send home small items. It would be nice to have someone give me advice on how to ship home large items. Sounds fun!

  33. Anjanette

How wonderful! I hope LaurieSF and I will be making plans to come over soon!
