Thank God! The situation is so dire and getting worse each passing minute. I pray that more supplies and medical aid will reach them soon. It is heartbreaking to watch the footage.
this is horrendous and another storm predicted ~ the fear in their faces breaks my heart ~ supplies must get there by ship SOON ~ the preciousness of life over “things”, I am happy to know your family is alive ~ xo

Listening to individual voices via BBC radio for pleas of any news regarding missing family and friends. The descriptions are heartbreaking. He is tall, she is 76, a student, grandparents visiting family, three children 9, 7, and 6, a missionary doing work; age 35….so many missing.
It’s humbling when it takes a natural disaster to unite the world.

Wonderful news for Vanessa and her family, although there will now be much to do to return to something approximating normal life there. I have an e-pal whose family weathered Hurricane Katrina, and it took them two years just to get their own lives back to semi-normal, although their community is still blighted and struggling terribly.
