Is It Humanly Possible, Eight Years? Does it Mean I am Nuts?

 A personal blog:

A person who writes their journal online. Open to anyone who "clicks" on it. Their B(ook)-LOG has pages called, "Posts," about their personal day to day life stuff:

I am married.

I like tofu.

I am a spiritual person.

I dye my hair.

Some personal bloggers are more ripe and ready then others. Some give hilarious accounts about nitty gritty details. Others tell their story which create soft spots in our hearts to sprout tears. Some bloggers beat around the bush and we chase after them. And others have brocante bugs and a French Husband.

Today eight years ago I started this blog.

I have never missed a day, though I cannot say all posts are equal.

Thank you for reading, following, and sharing my blog. Thank you for encouraging me, for your emails, your gifts, your humor, for meeting me here, there, your place, my place and in between.

Thank you.

Happy Birthday Tongue in Cheek!

Wishing you many more years of daily blogging (because I’m selfish that way). 🙂

  5. Over a year ago, I found you when I wasn’t looking. Blogs are not “my thing”, yet I kept on coming back to “Tongue and Cheeck”… is kind of addictive. I start my day in France and I have been at the brocante with you many times!

Congratulations on 8 years. Having found you by accident several years ago, I read every day to see what is new with you and your family. I’m so often touched by what you write. I wonder what my life would have been if my French husband and I had stayed near Aix in 1967! Please continue with joy!

Need to add your beautiful photographs, too.

    Félicitations Corey!
Your wonderful blog is the first thing I always go to online every day.
You are a fabulous writer and photographer, and your posts are always luminous, touching and beautiful. As a retired French teacher who has had a life long love affair with France, your blog feeds my soul. As one who used to take my students to France every year , but has not been back since I retired 6 years ago…..it’s the next best thing to being there.
I am sure that many others will agree when I say that Tongue in Cheek brings joy to many.
    Bises, Sue

  26. Thank YOU!!! I have watched you travel back and forth between your home lands, cherished the stories of days past and present, wished that Annie lived next to me (along with you!), drooled over the keyboard to the extent I needed a towel. Through thick and thin, you have inspired me, made me pause and reflect, encouraged me to pray, to giggle. I coveted quite a few things in the shop and some came here. I have sighed, laughed out loud (sometimes with tears), and enjoyed the heck out of your adventures. Thank you Corey (and Annie, Sacha, Chelsea, Mr. Expresso, Yann, Mom and all in Willows, and your special friend). You have made my mornings rich with your written words. Thank you.

    Well Happy Birthday Corey
I am not able to say that I have read your blog for 8 years but I have been reading it for several years now and I can honestly say that your blog popping into my inbox each day is one of the first items I search for and read. I look forward to your insights, your triumphs and tragedies, your mystery items, your occasionally bothersome anti-brocante brother, stories about Annie, your lovely husband and children….all the things that make your blog unique and you.
Well done and keep it comin!

  68. Congratulations Corey, I love Tongue in Cheek and have been reading you for many years now. Each day I look forward to seeing what you are offering us – and appreciate so much your candor, your thoughtful writing, the glimpses into the south of France which is a long time love of mine, the brocantes, the trials and tribulations and triumphs of life itself. I do hope you write a book someday you have a very special voice. Loved running into you on the street in Paris last summer and hope to see you in the south this summer! And thank you to everyone in your family who so kindly allows us a glimpse into their lives. Oh and did I mention that II also love that you are a California girl – I am in San Francisco! A bientot!

  69. Marjorie Sue

Fate works in mysterious ways. A dear friend introduced me to your blog after I came back from Paris last year. You kindly included my art work on your ‘Saturday Saves’ this year which led to a local woman contacting me, astonished that an artist near her home was on your blog. She had introduced your blog to the dear friend who introduced me! The triangle is complete. We all had lunch together a couple of weeks ago and were amazed that we came together because of you. See how it works? When you get back to the States, we must all get together in Northern California to make the circle complete. Your’s is the only blog I’ve ever participated in and I’m so glad I found you and get to share your love of life every night before I go to bed. It brings me Peace. Happy BD!

  70. May I add my name to your long list of friends and followers…as a new reader I feel as if I have widened my world in a fun and joyous way…as I live so I near your hometown of Willows I share so many of your ties to Northern Ca… If you ever have a reunion here…please count me in…and don’t stop writing and bless you for sharing…
