The Last Day of the Year

Floraldecoration

The end of the year. The last day of 20013.

The eve of a symbolic new beginning.

What are your New Year promises?

Is it fair of me to ask you since I do not know what mine will be!

Some of my New Year promises I have kept, though most were broken by the end of the week… The ones I did manage to keep have stayed with me. Well actually only one New Year promise has stayed with me… Wearing a seat belt.

Let's make a toast to the New Year.

I want to let go of the things and events that were difficult to hold, but ended well. I want to focus on the good and what taught me to be better.

May our glasses never be empty,

Cups

or should I say: May we savor every drop.

And whatever may come may it lead us to be a better person.

  2. Happy New Year! My goal is to write. It’s been 17 years since my books went out of print. It’s past time to write another.

  3. Wishing you and yours a healthy and happy new year, Corey.
As for me, I’ve learned that when change needs to happen, you don’t wait for the new year to roll around. So no real resolutions for me. I do like the sound of “whatever may come may it lead us to be a better person.” I can get behind that wholeheartedly.

  4. May you have a year blessed with JOY and Laughter!
I do not make resolutions, but choose a word to pay attention to. For 2014 my word will be Laugh. I hope to laugh each day as it is good for ones health.

My new year promise? If I may use some of your words:
“I want to let go of the things and events that were difficult to hold. I want to focus on the good and what taught me to be better.”

  9. “Hope smiles from the threshold of the year to come, Whispering ‘It will be happier’…” (Lord Alfred Tennyson)

  17. In 2014, no resolutions but I do promise myself to: get organized and simplify my life. I’ve come to realize that I have way to much stuff, both physical and emotional, cluttering my home and my self. I need to take stock and redefine what it is that I need to let go of and what truly makes me happy.
