Each Saturday I focus on a different artist that I admire. From potters to painters, chefs to collectors, seamstress to songwriters, lifestyle to lovers… anyone who set the paintbrush, pastry brush, hands and heart on fire to create.

Those who inspire art to flow where it may.

When I was in California in December my cousin, sister in law and I went out for dinner in Chico. While there we saw a young woman wearing a wonderful large and interesting scarf.

We asked about it and found out that the scarf was made by KOMPASSIONKNIT, a non profit organzation creating handmade scarves to help fight against human trafficking.

  1. Excellent cause, beautiful scarves . . .

  2. Thanks for the heads up on this program and the beautiful cowls. I love reading about those with a heart to take action and do something to help.

  3. I am so encouraged to hear of all the grass roots efforts to fight against human trafficking. The greater Sacramento area has a huge human trafficking problem!
And how appropriate to fight against injustice with beauty! Love it.

  4. Corey, I’m glad you brought this to our attention. I went to their Facebook page and “liked” it and have posted on my page. So many of us feel so helpless with human trafficking and figure there is little we can do, but this gives us a chance to help just a little bit! Merci, merci, merci!!! What beautiful scarves!
