A favorite poem of Alice's:

By e.e. cummings.

I Carry Your Heart:

‘i carry your heart’ by E.E. Cummings

i carry your heart with me (i carry it in
my heart) i am never without it (anywhere
i go you go, my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing, my darling)

i fear no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) i want
no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)

Ah yes, that is a truly delightful poem, I seem to remember it was used in a romantic movie not so long ago, just now my brain will not tell me which one, but it is perfect for a Valentine’s and all your loved up group. Happy faces, happy hearts!
    Cheers

Corey, I love that poem. Thanks for the reminder. Happy Valentines Day to you! 🙂

  14. Can you just keep Alice around? Love her and getting to know her.

  15. Theat is one of my favorite poems! What a blessed life you lead, Corey. In the midst of your worries about Annie, the loss of your friend to ALS, concern for Thierry….you are full of life and joy. I firmly believe that the pain and loss only help us to feel and appreciate more the sweetness.
