Here are some of the photos on our Fridge:

This is Sacha when he was twenty two months old, early in the morning, with his stuffed bear. He had yet to sleep through the night. In fact he woke up five, six, seven, eight times throughout the night until he was five years old.

It wasn't easy.

This is a photo of my dad and I. It was the first time he and my mom came to visit me in France 1988. Dig my short brown hair?

Peeking out above the photo is another photo of Chelsea… she had hardly any hair on her head until she three or so.

Chelsea is holding her little brother Sacha. She thought he was a doll. He liked being a baby. So everyone was happy. Until night time that is…

In the background was our cherry tree.

This is a photo of my mom's family Easter egg hunting. My mom was the youngest of seven. (Not all seen in the photo.)

An old photo of my mom with some of her sisters and my dad. Another one of my Grandmother that I adored. A snippet of a postcard from Sacha when he was in NYC and a movie stub when I went to the movies years ago with my nieces and decided right then and there to invite them to Paris when I turn sixty, God willing.

A painting of a French boy that activated French Husband's brocante bug! He found the painting, and bought it.

Oil on canvas, 10 Euros.

Some of my family when we went back home a few weeks before my brother Mark's (and Diane's) wedding. I think Sacha who was three took the photo.

The seven oldest grandchildren (including Sacha.)

Marty

A photo of my brother Marty (who is younger than me) and me.

It is probably the first and only time I held a dog.

Happy Birthday Marty!!

What photos do you have on your fridge?

  1. Even a refrigerator can tell a story . . .

  2. well when we purchased the new stainless steel fridge magnets only hold to the side …. so we scaled down. There is one of my mom on the beach in wildwood new jersey-a family vacation maybe she was 33 and BEAUTIFUL-there are pictures of my brother Walter’s-older than me – 2 children Thomas and Anna(named after my mom)both still in grade school and pictures of my brother Jimmy’s(younger than me) son Jim and Danny-both in eighth grade. Then there is a picture of my sister and I at a friend’s son christening party-and one of my mom and dad on a vacation a few years before she left us. I also have a picture of the Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart-part of the family too!

  3. A walk down memory lane, er, fridge door! Big sister lifting her brother is so adorable.
When I saw your title pop up on my blogroll, I had visions of ceramic yogurt pots in lavender, and brown eggs, neatly lined up in your fridge. 😉

  4. Well said! 😉
Reminds me of the time my kids and I decided to inject some humor into our answering machine message, along the line of “The answering machine is on vacation, this is the refrigerator speaking …. ” – it lasted a day or two, until some irate caller left a not so kind message. 😉

  5. Beautiful I love all of your photographs.
    Love all your postings
    Love Jeanne

  6. Ha, poor Sacha, poor you. My kids were never good sleepers. Now, as teenagers, they sleep great, so I guess it wasn’t all my fault. My refrigerator has postcards of France, a schedule of “senior year” important dates, and a magnet that says, “Jesus is coming. Look busy.”

  7. Kathie B

Lots of old cartoons posted on our fridge, mostly to do with the trials and tribulations of vegetable gardening (especially predatory rodents).

  8. I change them out occasionally. Right now are several Christmas cards with pictures, 2 wedding “save the date” cards, some quotes and words to eat well.
I think I like your photos better.

  9. Libbie Griffin

When one of our grandchildren was born more than 3 months early I promised him that one day we would have pictures of a smiling Charlie on the fridge. Charlie will be 6 years old next week, and his beautiful smiling face is on our fridge several times. So are the pictures of our two youngest grandchildren and our oldest one. We have 12!

  10. A picture a friend gave us from his travels of a drooling Komodo Dragon. A few pics of family and friends.
Love all your pics and especially the one of you and your Dad!

  11. Laurie SF

NYC Metro card with 12.00 balance (a reason to go back), Man Ray photo (copy) of a nude Lee Miller, love note to my husband, a Bora Bora magnet (wish you here), postcards picked up from faraway places (a reminder to go back), a comic in reference to my husband’s white socks, a dinner cheque from Paris, race bib #235, movie stub, recipe for New Mexico green chile, various photos, take out menus, and one Picasso portrait of the vulnerable Dora Mar (postcard of the painting)
It’s a cluttered mess and we love it.

  12. Love, love, love your refrigerator album, Corey. Precious photos.

  13. Leslie in Oregon

The first and only time you held a dog..really? Is there a story behind that sad fact?

  14. New Yorker cartoons, political cartoons, granddaughters, us, funny articles from the paper…

  15. Thank you for sharing, these precious memories….
    Gentle hugs,
    Tessa~

  16. XiijnTEXAS FRANCOPHILE

Love your pics. Somewhat jelly of so many family members, but grateful for the few I have! I agree with Leslie “only held a dog once” ?????? Need a post devoted to that. Nothing on frig. Treat it as a piece of furniture. Have most family pics in the hall gallery style.

  17. Brother Mathew

Dogs are just not Corey’s thing.
    Happy Birthday Marty.
    Marty likes dogs.

  18. Brother Mathew

The picture on my cell phone for Marty is a dog.
    The dog looks like Marty.
