Happy Fourth French Style

Happy Fourth!!!

My friend Allison,

celebrating the fourth of July with us…

French Style!

Happy Fourth!!!

Macarons.

Pink was the closest to red, and Allison's ring had some blue with white sparkles.

It was the best we could do. The details aren't important just the fact of celebrating.

Happy Fourth of July.

What are you doing today?

We always watch “A Capitol Fourth” on PBS in the evening (live broadcast from The Mall in Washington, DC.), then sit out on our kitchen porch to see our community’s fireworks show. Perfect weather today — cooler than usual, low humidity, bright sun — so Farmboy Husband’s been weeding the vegetable garden.

  2. Family picnic in the yard.
    Just hang out. Food made,
    now waiting for family.
    Potato salad, deviled eggs,
    kale salad, and barbecue
    salmon. Marionberry sorbet.
    Want to come?

  3. spending time with my sister and father and enjoying the break rom the REALLY hot weather! HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY to all!

It’s difficult for us to join in celebrating because the fireworks (incessant every evening this week, from nearby Washington where they are legal) panic our normally mellow dogs and a neighbor veteran with PTSD. I wish we could have beautiful visual displays that were not noisy or concussive.

We were in the local bar cheering on “les bleus”, so there was lots of blue white and red to be seen, but not much red white and blue. Allez les Bleus! oh…shoot. They lost.

  6. Barbeque with my parents; daughter off to her boyfriens’s parents house near the shore, 16 yo & 13 yo sons off with friends. Feeling strangely different & alone with just hubbie & parents.
