Bicycling Through Paris: Starting Point Canal Saint Martin to the Eiffel Tower

Starting Point Canal Saint Martin Paris

Chelsea lives near Saint Martin Canal so my friend Cheryl and I met her there. The goal was to ride bicycles from Chelsea's apartment to the Eiffel Tower and then back to our apartment. I knew my legs would be noodles by the time we reached home. Noodles. Over cooked noodles.

Starting point:

Atmosphere!

Atmosphere!

Atmosphere!

Bicycling Through Paris

Cheryl looked very French in her black and white pencil skirt!

Me… oh well.

Admiration at sunset.

Chelsea led the way.

Cheryl was in the middle, and I stayed at the end.

We sandwich-ed Cheryl in so we wouldn't loose her.

I have always love this view of the Eiffel Tower.

Romantic.

Impressive.

We made it without breaking a sweat.

We snapped (Snapchatted) our families.

Noodles? Nope!

Sticking out my tongue,

Gosh I don't know why.

I was happy.

Not a flattering photo of any of us. Bugged eyed me barely in the photo,

Chelsea sticking out out her tongue, as if licking my face,

and Cheryl squinting with laughter!

We were so silly, so happy and thrilled!

I didn't care about how we looked, we just wanted to mark the memory!

Vanity out, friendship in, Paris yeah!

Happy!

Then we rode home, uphill!

And had the best dinner.

Wine

Cheese

Baguette

plus more

and

of course

we had

our friendship and

love

alot of it!

  1. What a fun day for you three! Wish I were there — even though I suspect I’d be unable to bicycle any distance, and can’t even begin to imagine cycling in any skirt, let alone a skinny one!

  2. It looks like you had loads of fun. We have been talking about cycling in various cities when in Europe next year…what a beautiful route along the canal, very picturesque. Win, win…a guilt free dinner after a bike ride.

  3. That sounds like a spectacular day. I would love it.
Even love the google eyes. I have not seen canals in Paris, I must explore more when I come again.

  4. Sounds like a great day!

  5. Love you pinching the top of the Eiffel Tower:)!

Hôtel du Nord: “Atmosphère, vous avez dit atmosphère?” One of the most famous lines in French cinema. I long to revisit the newly hip Canal St. Martin and environs.

Think I got the quote wrong–but still a famous French film.
“C’est la première fois qu’on me traite d’atmosphère.”
