A French Affair

A French Affair

A French affair started with lunch.

The table was set with care, and thought to detail.

A heart on top of a bowl of gazpacho.

A French Affair

Tossed green salad

flavored with dill and roasted walnuts,

well mixed conversation

spiced with humor and tease.

A French Affair

Old friends,

New friends,

faded lavender with a vibrant fragrance.

Without thought of who, what or where…

Lunch is a French affair…

Holiday.

A French Affair

Caramelized onions layers with thinly sliced potatoes and cheese,

then baked in a cast iron skillet.

Another recipe to put in my pocket.

The dill and roasted walnut salad slide in next to it.

Mingled taste gave way to,

Delicious coupling.

Lunch in Provence

Home made panna cotta with roasted fresh apricots with honey rosemary glaze.

By far one of the best dessert I have ever had.

And I do not like panna cotta… until today.

A French affair means untold delights in the unexpected.

I begged Denise for her recipes!

the bearer of rich taste,

the recipe holder

my friend from blogging: Denise.

What did you have for lunch today.

Merci Vlad and Denise for the lovely lunch today.

Your killing me with the panna cotta and apricots. Heaven! Happy you had a lovely day!

  2. A low-fat yogurt! Can we get recipes? Does Denise still have her blog?

  3. The onions, potato and cheese looks heavenly. And we had a hot day in LA, so I could dive into that bowl of gazpacho, one of my favorite summer dishes!

  4. This meal would delight all the senses, eyes just for the beauty of the fresh food and colors, sounds for the laughter and teasing around the table, smells so fragrant of each and every items. What a total delight!

  5. No lunch today at all: we both worked all the way through from breakfast till dinner, looking up/correcting references at the university library. Farmboy Husband came along to lend a hand, which made the chore go faster.
But don’t feel sorry for us. We celebrated completion of the task by stopping en route home at our favorite Italian bakery to buy several luscious desserts to parcel out at the end of our next three dinners, as a reward for a job well-done.

  6. P.S. Speaking of teasing, I hope you’ll get the recipes so you can post them on T-I-C. Please???

  7. Ooooh, yumm-O stuff. Please get the recipes to share! Pretty please?

  11. Oh dear, Campbells tomato soup and calvados camembert with calvados on triscut crackers…the soup is a “cheap eats, simple pleasure, comfort food” a la America. The camembert is a simple pleasure, comfort food a la ma belle france:)

    Recipes please.

  14. Just read the post “Tarzan, Jane and the Monkey in Me” from 2010. Whatever became of the book project? (I just started following your wonderful blog this year.)

  15. If you did get the recipes, would you be able to share them with us? Peaches are in season here and I’d love to know what’s in teh rosemary glaze…have rosemary growing in a planter on my deck – along with other herbs.
Loved this post and glad you had such a good time with your friends…and shared it with us.

  16. yum, is it too much to hope for a recipe of the onion potato tart? 🙂

  17. Ahhh…lunch today with les enfants et les petits enfants! Melon from the market and…grilled marinated fresh swordfish steaks with concasse of lemon, tomato, caper, parsley and olive oil served with fine fettuccini al pesto. Oh my!

  18. Actually, it was tea, chicken salad sandwich’s, salad with pumpkin seeds, cranberries, cucumber slaw, and boiled egg slices with a touch of cream cheese and marscopone cheeses!
Have the happiest of times, hugs!

  19. Wonderful menu! It had to be wonderful if Denise cooked it! Tell Denise & Vlad hello from us. Sounds like a wonderful day! Our lunch was a Mexican layer dip, a meal in itself.
